In October you should not have any problem getting on. LAN only has a few flights each day but Aerolineas Argentinas has additional flights. You might want to check on those as well.

If possible try to get a LAN Argentina flight. They are (at least were) more reliable.

Travel Tips for Buenos Aires

Reservations in Buenos Aires

by jakelorenzo

Trying to make reservations in Buenos Aires is to experience classic Argentinian thinking. You can easily make reservations for 8:30 pm, but at most restaurants that is the only time you can make them. If you ask for 9 pm or 9:30 pm reservations, you will be told they don't have anything open. Restaurateurs don't want to leave tables empty while they wait for late reservations, so they will make reservations for the early diners, but everyone else has to wait in line until the early diners finish, and as you know no Argentinian restaurant will ever rush you to leave a table no matter how many people are in line.
Some restaurants like Brasserie Petanque will take reservations for any time you like, but they don't mean a damn thing. They fill up the tables and will give you a seat when one opens up, even if you can point to your name in the reservations book alongside the 2 pm slot.
It's not worth getting frustrated. It's just Argentina. Have a bottle of wine and wait for your table.

Yerba

by VolsUT

This is a local tea like drink in Argentina, Uruguay and Southern Brasil. It is served in a gord most of the time with silver straw to drink it. I liked the drink but the taste is diffacult to explain. Yerba is a must try at least once while in Argentina.

WEIRD AND CUTE

by RafaelTheSecond

Nutria.....she is in the wild swamps of the Plata and in many lakes in the city, at a first look, I really thought it was a beaver, but it seems to a be an argentinean cousin of a beave...Quite friendly, that one wanted to talk with me, she left the lake specially to see me, can you believe it!?

The collection

Here you have some specimen of the MACN's collection:
Patagosaurus fariasi, a four-footed herbivorous who lived at Middle Jurassic (160 million years ago). The name means "lizard of Patagonia", because was found at Province of Chubut, Patagonia, by Dr. José Bonaparte of Universidad Nacional de Tucumán in 1979, at the property of Farias family.
The smaller specimen are Homo sapiens, biped omnivorous, who live nowadays everywhere.

Wine Shop

by Gypsystravels about Terrior Wine

A friend and member of another website is the proprietor of this wine shop and during my last visit I sent him an email to see if he was around so he can assist me in narrowing down my Argentinian wines.

Alex was away during my visit but he quickly suggested three different categories of wines for me to choose from ranging from $300 pesos to $450 pesos (for six bottles). We looked over our list and made our choices of 12 different wines.

The best part about buying my wines here is that Alex made sure to package my wines for easy transport back home and they even delivered the large packaged box to our hotel.

I would definitely recommend Terrior to any one visiting Buenos Aires and if you need more information, please contact me. A large variety of red, white and rose wines as well as sparkling wine (not Champagne, that is only made in France, lol). The prices are quite comparable to other places that sell wine and you can pick up an excellent Argentinian Malbec for about $14 (US).
