Shopping trip

by no1tophat

Does anyone know where to buy Cosogi leather products particularly a laptop shoulder bag In Argentina ? This would help when planning my trip

Re: Shopping trip

As you probably did, I checked every possible way to find where this company sells their goods to no avail. If you know where they're sold in your area, check the the label or tag for an email address. Maybe the company uses this brand name on their exported products and a diffent name for products that they sell in Argentina; if they do sell in Argentina. There are many high quality leather stores in BA. Check out Patio Bullrich Shopping Center on Posadas in Recoleta and on Posadas, as you walk toward The Recoleta Cemetery area.

Miki Fernandez's birthday party, part 1

by b1bob

The plan for the evening was to meet up with roughly the same group of friends for yet another birthday party. This wasn't Alex's, but rather a friend of his who couldn't make his party, but did join them at the discotheque the previous night. Miki Fernandez had a tradition of more than 5 years' standing of celebrating his birthday at Burger King. I have to admit I was not looking forward to making this party. Burger King is a fine place for a party if you're a kid who has it at the playground. I like to avoid fast food places in the United States, as well as in foreign countries. I agreed to go to Miki's party if I didn't have to eat any of the cuisine de Burger King. So, Alex warmed up some leftover pasta that Mariano made and we had some real food before we set out for the Burger King some 15-20 blocks away. On the way to the party, we stopped at a kiosko (a small store where they sell tobacco, refreshments and other small items) to find Miki's birthday card. It was a long way to go on foot, but along the way, I noticed something very strange: here it was two days before Christmas and the streets in the shopping district and the main drag, the Avenida del 9 de Julio had no outdoor Christmas decorations. Some of the gallerias like the Galleria Pacifico near Alex's flat were neatly adorned on the inside.

Internet points

by acemj

Alex, a local I met down in Buenos Aires, commented on the number of new internet spots that have opened in recent years. These days you're never too far from one. Most of them also have phone booths, which I found were really easy and inexpensive ways to call home. I called my sister and spoke with my nephew from one such place and was on the phone for 12 minutes and it only cost 11 pesos .

BUENOS AIRES : COSTANERA SUR WILDLIFE RESERVE

by swesn

This is a stretch of marshland that is reclaimed from the Rio de la Plata, right by the side of the city of 11 million people.

Many bird species can be spotted here, including the graceful black-necked swans. Entrance is free. There are a few walking trails.

A wonderful and very accessible retreat.

Once you reach Puerto Madero, a converted warehouse that now contains restaurants and bars, cross the bridge and keep walking til you come to a river. Then turn south. Entrance is at Av Tristan Achabal Rodriguez 1550.

Shoping in La Boca

by DPando about Maradona Souvenirs

For those who love football and specially Maradona this is the best place to purchase anything from him.. forget the downtown where all is the typical souvenir with no special style....here there is more sort of t-shirt and a special department just for stuff from him !! its just in front of the Bombonera main gate where there is a souvenir shop more trendy but more expensive as well.... try to buy something on this stall ...cheaper and more things to see ..there is no chance to pay in credit card or euros...just in pesos or american dollars !!
Maradona t-shirts i could remember that costed around 50 pesos
there are also mate cups , bombillas ...everything is there!!
