I've stayed here 3x now, and it seems each time it gets just a little worse. It's a very nicely designed hotel, with pretty good rates, considering what else is out there in BA. However, there are constantly issues with the wireless, which for business, in unacceptable. The location is fine, if you don't mind being in the city center. The rooms are nice, the suite is definitely worth the extra money, but the bathrooms are small.
Overall it's an ok place for the money, but there are better places out there. They just opened an Esplendor in Palermo, which i've heard is much better.

Esplendor is a medium sized hotel in prime location to Bs As shopping district. It's literally next door to the lovely, but expensive Galleria Pacifico shopping centre. Taxis on the street outside are plentiful and cheap to anywhere in BsAs.
There is no gym or pool. There is excellent wifi coverage and fixed line broadband in every room, as well as 2 pcs for general internet use.
The rooms are spacious and modern with nice decor.
Breakfast is included and consists of scrambled egg, bacon, bread, croisants with a selection of jams, fruit, cheeses, cold meats, and small sweet pastrys and cakes, as well as coffee and juice.
Service is excellent, all staff speak fluent english, will book restaurants and tours for you, open and close the door when you enter and leave the hotel, carry your bags to your room, all without expecting a tip.
The down sides:
-many of the rooms can be very noisy from the busy traffic in the main street below - if you are a light sleeper this can be a problem.
-In winter (I went in august) they crank the heating up and the whole hotel and room were constantly too hot.
-Its fairly expensive.

On the corner of San Martin and Cordoba the Hotel Esplendor is a funky hip place to stay right in the area of Microcentre. Very cool place next to the best shopping mall in Buenos Aires. Walk to Recoleta!. We splurged for the best room in the whole hotel and it was worth it !!
Las Violetas era la confitería vecina a la estación ferroviaria y el tranvía de caballos que recorría la Avenida Rivadavia. Fue creada el 21 de septiembre de 1884.
Fue en la década del 20 cuando se levantó majestuoso el edificio actual, con enormes columnas, mampostería y vitraux palaciegos, haciendo referencia a la belle époque.
Entre los clásicos de esta confitería estaban el café vienés en vaso cívico o imperial, el candeal con yema, los bizcochitos con chocolate y los huevos quimbo.
Permaneció cerrada desde 1998 y hasta julio de 2001, cuando recobró su antiguo esplendor. Resultó imprescindible un trabajo de investigación histórica para llegar a la imagen inicial, modificada en 1920.
