Wanna spend US$350 a night in an awesome place?

I've never stayed here, but I'm thinking of having my wedding night here. IF I get someone who wants to give me a US$350 present, IF I get married, ha!
I went to have a drink with some VTers to the bar. I cannot find words to describe it, so just look at the pictures on its webpage and you'll understand why this is not money down the drain.
The only word I can think of is: unique.
It was designed by a world-famous French architect, but I don't know his name!

More about Faena Hotel And Universe

A Universe within a capital city

by Stefaliscious about The Library Lounge

Hidden in a barrio in Buenos Aires provincia is a place where rose petals sit atop the baby grand, the leather couches are strategically placed throughout the room so that portenos and travelers can intertwine over malbec and tapas. Showmanship lives boldly in every act they put on, from the musicians to the deejays to the sensual tango. In the heart of the city, this seperate Universe provides the seduction one would expect from Buenos Aires. Faena Hotel+Universe - one of the top 500 hotels on Earth. The room: the Library Lounge - the experience: worth a thousand more words. As always in life, where what you want - but at Faena, nobody is under-dressed.

A glamorous experience

by gueto about Faena Hotel

Faena Hotel is known as the best hotel of 2004. Designed by Alan Faena and decoration concepts by Phillippe Starck. This hotel is a great experience both to dine and drink cocktails.

The hotel has "THE BISTRO" an exquisite elegant restaurant with its white and gold decor is ideal for savouring the very best of sophisticated international cuisine.

"THE MERCADO" Inspired by the European markets of old and the legendary cantinas of Buenos Aires, El Mercado offers sophisticated, top-quality natural fare. Enjoy appetizing traditional Argentinian cuisine by the warmth of a rustic adobe mud oven.

"The LIBRARY lounge" offers a homely, relaxed atmosphere, surrounded by books or lounging by the fireplace, for you to enjoy those unique moments: a morning coffee, a healthy lunch, a pause to read, an intimate conversation, a chance to put your feet up or a long-awaited rendez-vous. Well, it is a 5 star hotel so you may guess you have to dress nicely. Remember this hotel has above average prices compared to usual touristic places but if you like glamorous evenings you can´t miss this out.

Puerto Madero

by MikeAtSea

It's still shocking to many porteños that Puerto Madero—once a run-down dock area—has now surpassed Recoleta as B.A.'s highest-rent district. It's a barrio that didn't even officially exist until 1994, when massive renewal transformed a jumble of derelict brick warehouses and deserted streets into the TriBeCa of South America. These days, the four diques (locks) that define the old port are home to many excellent restaurants; Santiago Calatrava's lyrelike suspension bridge, Puente de la Mujer; and Faena Hotel + Universe, the mind-bogglingly over-the-top hotel that design superstar Philippe Starck carved out of a 1902 industrial grain warehouse.

Puerto Madero - hip & cosmopiltan new area

by jumpingnorman

Puerto Madero
Renovated waterfront that extends south toward San Telmo with the most expensive real estates in BA, with 5-star hotels like Hilton, Four Seasons and the unique Faena Hotel & Universe designed by Philip Starke
Get a parilla (grill or barbeque) in one of the very good high-end restaurants –a good parilla contains meats such as chorizo sausages and the thinner sausage, salchicha. My favorite is the vacio (flank steak), but you can also order bife de chorizo (rump steak), tira de asado (short ribs), colita de cuadril (tail of rump, triangle) or the lomo (tenderloin). Beef lovers celebrate!

Hotel in Recoleta or Palermo

by brian2002

I just purchased my airline ticket for my B.A. Vacation Nov 8-Nov 15th I will be staying at the Faena Hotel in Puerto Madero from the 8th to the 10th, the rest of the days I want to stay in a nice hotel in Recoleta or Palermo area. Unfortunately the hotels I wanted to stay at BOBO and 1515 Malabia House are already booked up. Can anyone suggest a nice hotel close to the best night clubs restaurants and shopping basically whare all the recreation and night life is. Also if anyone knows how far is the Faena hotel to Rcoleta and Palermo.

Thanks .

RE: Hotel in Recoleta or Palermo

Hi, you have Etoile Hotel in Recoleta. Is not as hip as faena or BOBO, but is in the center of recoleta near everything. Faena hotel is not far from recoleta, maybe 10 minutes in a cab. Palermo is next to recoleta, so maybe you have 15 or 20 minutes from puerto Madero (where Faena is).
Cheers
Agustina
