Recoleta Subte Line D

by subte

How to I get from 1600 Ayacucho to the nearest subte station. Need to take Line D to Palermo.

Thank you

closest is probably Callao. just take av. callao to Cordoba and catch the D line. facultad de medicina or pueyrredon might be closer. you can ask anyone there. they know. it's about 10 minutes walk whichever it is.

Just walk to Vincente Lopez make a right and go all the way to Puerreydon and make a left and walk to Santa Fe and you will find the subte entrance there. Since you are going outbound to Palermo walking to the Callao station is the stop prior to Puerreydon, and they are both about 9 blocks from you, so take the Puerreydon.

suerte

The Pink House (House of the National Government)

by pili

Located in Balcarce 50, the building is known as the "Pink House". It was the argentine government center since the First Government Board in 1810. President Sarmiento decided its pink colour, in 1873. Pink symbolize the union of political sectors. Red was the colour of federal party, guided by Juan Manuel de Rosas, and white, the colour of the unitary opponents.

Great old spa

by ncoutroulis

This is a great old place in B.A. It's sort of a men's club. There is a turkish bath, sauna, steam room (where old men play dominos), massages etc. There's also a fitness center, and I think women might be allowed in there. The place really has a grat old look to it. It's definitely a locals only spot, and a great experience.

Vicente Lopez Square

by DPando

Located in the chic area just a few blocks of Santa Fe avenue....full of trendy shops and far away from the Bs Aires poverty...its so different ..its so relaxing and you can walk easily in wide sidewalks dont be harm or alarmed by nothing
Vicente lopez sq is amidst recoleta graveyard and its village and Santa Fe av...on the way to Recoleta pubs and plaza Francia ... nice to see but at the same time nothing special to see... just a contrast among the rich and poor Bs Aires

b1bob's Buenos Aires shopping tip nº 8

by b1bob about Ayres

Before any of y'all get the wrong idea about me writing up a clothing store for the fairer sex, the original intent of the photo was a joke. See, a good friend of mine in the States has the last name of Ayres. This shop is located in a fairly decent neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, though not quite as snooty as the Recoleta or the calle Florida. All manner of women's clothes. Judging by the location, I would say that it is on the high-end by Buenos Aires standards, but maybe still a bargain in the eyes of American or European tourists.
