Noisy Hotel
Well I have stayed at many hotels in my life. I have stayed at a couple of others in Buenos Aires. This hotels lobby and breakfast area is beautiful. Now for the bad news. The rooms are large with tissue paper as walls. Since you can hear everything in the next room. Plus if your facing the back as I was. You don't need an alarm clock since another hotel just started to get built so everymorning you hear the workers yelling to each other very early in spanish. Plus you have the added benefit of having some kind of place for kids almost next door and if the construction workers don't wake you the kids playing in there playground will. There business center where they have computers you can use for free are as slow as trying to get to work in the Boston traffic in the morning. The good thing is around the corner is a internet cafe with fast connections for 1 peso an hour. The people at the front desk were not very helpful and one women was plain grouchy. Like I said I have stayed at many hotels. This was the worst one to date.
Unique Quality: The rooms are large with stereos in them and the beds are comfortable. The lobby to the hotel and breakfast area are nice.

Suite Hotel in the Recoleta
The hotel staff was great; they were willing to arrage anything I needed, from restaurant suggestions to a car for the airport. The room was huge, with a great bathroom, and both fluffy towels and robes.
Unique Quality: The location was nice if you are looking to stay in the Recoleta area for your visit. The free breakfast (served in the sun room) was outstanding!

Great hotel in Recoleta
We stayed at this hotel for almost 2 weeks from August 15 to 27 2005, and we had a great stay. This is a hotel chain very popular in Buenos Aires. The receptionists were very friendly, they spoke english so no problem. The rooms were tastefully decorated in beige and black it was so relaxing. The chambermaids came to our room every evening to prepare our bed before we sleep and made sure we had some sweets for the night. We had a spacious room with a separate bedroom, we had a wet bar and CD system too. The hotel also provide cellfones to its guests. The buffet breakfast has lots of choices, very worth walking up for. It is located in an atrium and very clean and relaxing. The waiters and waitresses were very attentive. The business center was clean and provide 4 computers and a printer. The hotel is strategically located near good restaurants cinemas in the Village, walking distance to Church of Our Lady of Pillar, Recoleta cemetery where you can find Evita's mausoleum. On weekends they have a flea market at the Plaza. This hotel is conveniently located and is very safe even for single women. It is worth the price and I highly recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to be in a safe, relaxing atmosphere and be near the fab restaurants as well.
Unique Quality: The rooms were decorated tastefully, it offers cellfones free of charge to hotel guests. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast offered lots of choices. The business center has 4 computers and colored printer. Located near great restaurants and a church, walking distance to cinemas, and parks. They have a heated pool, massage, and gym.

Recoleta's Best Kept Secret
The LoiSuites is a quiet garden oasis in the big city bustle of Buenos Aires. The staff are exceptionally nice and will do anything to make your stay wonderful.
I was in a Junior Exec Suite with a small sitting room and a separated bedroom, separated by room layout and design rather than walls leaving the whole space open and airy.
The hotel is less than one block from the Recoleta Cemetary and nearby outdoor cafes. The neighborhood is safe day and night and easily walkable.
About 2 blocks from la Biele, an outdoor cafe under the ancient gumbero tree much celebrated in BA.
Unique Quality: Great views, beautiful pool under very high opaque ceiling, great breakfast with huge variety of hot/cold, breads, cereals, meats/cheeses.
Restaurant, room service, IDD phones, in-room safes, minibars, microwaves, cable TV, in-room data ports, indoor-outdoor pool, gym, sauna, massage therapist, bar, dry cleaning, laundry service, Internet, business services, meeting rooms, parking (fee).

Hello people! I am going to be in Buenos Aires for 4 days in early jan and the hotel that hotel that I have booked at is the Lois Suites recoleta which was highly recommended. Does anyone know what this hotel is like?the area etc? Since this is not an interantional chain, I am not sure what standards to expect

Well... It´s a good apart hotel style, the area is Recoleta, very secure and one of the most expensives areas in Buenos Aires.

Recoleta is a very trendy and expensive neighborhood! Well, it won't be expensive for you coming from overseas. You have easy access to all public transport. You have interests like "Plaza Francia" where people gather to sell artcraft and sometimes there are bands playing. Saturdays are the days to go there. You have as well Recoleta Cemetery where Evita is burried. And outside the cemetery nighlife is great because it's full of restaurants, bars and cinemas.
The place you are staying is very comfortable, don't worry about it!!
Please, try to eat "empanadas de carne" before you leave the country! They are great and can find them in any restaurant.

Go as well to "cafe tortoni" in Avenida de Mayo 825. You can have breakfast there or go at night to see Tango dancers and bands in action. www.cafetortoni.com.ar (it's in English as well)

Your chocie is good but expensive, as the whole area (Recoleta is a kind of Upper East Side area).

I just got back from Buenos Aires and the market in Recoleta was one of my favorite things. I went on a Saturday afternoon and there were hundreds of little boths set up selling everything from clothes and jewelry to wood carvings. It was awesome. The cemetary there is pretty amazing as well. As for the rest, the restaurants and bars seemed very touristy but I wouldn't let that stop you from staying there. It's so easy to get around that anywhere you'd want to go is only a quick cab ride away....
