I have been trying to book a hotels in Recoleta Area for two weeks. So far I am not successful. It seems all the hotels are fully booked. Can any VT menbers in BA give me some advice? Thank you very much in advance.

Jonathan, have you considered renting an apartment? They are many available in the Recoleta and normally cheaper than a hotel. This is the US contact information for one agent USA CALL CENTER Monday to Friday 9 am to 7 pm
+1 619 841 0054. Not sure what hotels you have tried but Kempinski Hotels have two small boutique hotels in the Recoleta, Park Plaza and the Park Chateau, there is also the Bel Air, the Melia Recoleta Plaza, Hotel Impala (budget) you might try as well.

As Porteno said, try renting an apartment. About half the price of a hotel and much more room. Two very good companies I have rented through are: and

The apartment advice is excellent. However, if you want to see some hotels avaialable check the website www.expedia.com. There are a number of hotels with vacancy during your time period including the Kempinskis as suggested.
You may not get to stay in one hotel the entire time, but may have to move one time to complete the two weeks.
A suggestion: When looking at online hotel bookings, do not put your entire 2 week stay in one enquiry. Split up the days because the computer will delete a hotel sometimes if one or two days is unavailable from your time period and only show hotels which have rooms for the entire stay.

BsAs with a baby - hotel question

by texasdago

My wife and I have been to Buenos Aires twice and loved the city. We'll be returning with a baby this time. Does anyone have any suggestions on good hotel options? We've stayed at Bobo before (Argentine suite is booked) and the NH Latino (don't want to stay in the microcentro).

What about Costa Petit, Home Hotel, cE Design, Soho All-Suites or Ayres the Palermo?

We know there's space at Costa Petit, Soho All-Suites and 248 Finisterra (althoug the Las Canitas location may be better for a couple w/o a child)

I think the Home Hotel is just great...The New York Times gave 248 a decent review here is the link http://travel.nytimes.com/2007/07/08/travel/08checkin.html You will note in the review that the rooms are on the tiny side so might not be a great choice with baby in tow.

The Cocker in San Telmo has had good notices as has Vain Hotel in Palermo close to the BoBo http://www.vainuniverse.com/

Two others in the Recolta you might take a look at the Melia Recoleta on Posadas, just opened last year and very nice, also the Loi Suites Recoleta would be worth a look.

Hope this helps

I keep trying to think with my head and not my heart. For my wife and I something like Vain or Home are the way to go (both have space) but, realistically, I think a suite hotel is best. I really like the location of the Soho All-Suites. That may be the way to go. Cocker looked fantastic but the owner agreed that they're probably not the best option for children.
