Looking for Tea & Yerba Mate experiences

by jewbacca

Hello Friends!

I am a big tea drinker and I would LOVE to see a yerba mate farm. Does anyone know where this can be done, I will be in BA from Apr 17 to Apr28.

OR, can anyone recommend any great tea stores or tea brands in BA?

Thanks!

what about a trip to the Provincia de Misiones?
as far I know there is no mate farm in BsAs.

Hello! Where are you from?. I recommend visiting "Las Marías" located in the town of Virasoro, province of Misiones. It is one of the tea plantation establishment on the planet's southernmost and largest producer of herbs in the world. It is a beautiful place! if you want more information do not hesitate to contact me. Greetings!

I would love more info on Misiones! It sounds amazing. Would it be possible to visit the falls at Iguazu and do the area you discuss. I would also like to see the Jesuit ruins at San Ignacio?

I have 4-5 days to tour the region, apart from my time in BA.

cheers!

From Iguazu you can buy a tour to the Jesuit ruins at San Ignacio, I did so.
It's a day trip.

hey there!:) i'm argentinian and it's true, the only part of the country where you'll find yerba mate farms is in the province of misiones and maybe corrientes:) las marias is one and it's in misiones:)

i've got a website about my country if you're ever interested:) it's only about information about the culture, the language, food, music, hot spots and travelling tips though:)there's no info on hotels or anything like that as it's a non profit website:)

hope you like it!:) the link is: www.toargentina.jimdo.com

all the best!:)

Travel Tips for Buenos Aires

A friendly guide in BA

by djoslinmich

Contact local "helper" Maria Isabel (Milla). She helped us with a tour of the city, and a special dinner for my wife, the opera fanatic, in Belgrano. You can reach her through Travelerspoint.com A bustling latin city, we remember the Sunday afternoon in San Telmo, and Plaza Dorrego. A great first day in BA after our long flight from the USA. Also, an opera performance at Teatro Colon!

LIBERTADOR AVENUE - PART TWO

by RafaelTheSecond

Well, everywhere I had to go in Buenos Aires, taxis are a great deal for me, not so expensive, you just raise your hand and one car will pull over!!! :) But at least I could take pictures of the modern part of Buenos Aires city centre. I was still driving the Libertador Street, and you can see the magnificent building of the cell phone company MOVISTAR.

The locals are very friendly...

by lukec

The locals are very friendly and warm. In this one occassion we were sitting in Plaza Dorrego, watching tango and a girl sitting next to us just started a conversation. She was a local girl and had a German boyfriend visiting her. In the end we all ended up having a drink together in a nearby pub, discussing the world affairs and our own personal wishes and plans. We chatted for quite a while and even came up with the idea of going to a tango show together (unfortunately this idea never materialised). When it was finally time to say goodbye we kissed on the cheeks almost as if we were good old friends. This experience was a nice surprise for both of us with Irena as we were able to observe the local hospitality first hand.

Morning Reflections in BsAs

by mydreamquest

Just alone,
April 2004,
A few hours of quiet reflection at 6am
Buenos Aires at 6am is lonely,
Quiet cold coals;

Sniffs and breaths of air.
I stare past swings on a lonely walk
with an English Clock distant.

Was it San Martin Park?
Was I really alone in Buenos Aires.
Was the noise silenced
like how my heart was?

Galerias Pacifico

by sof76 about Galerías Pacífico

Inside Galerias Pacifico you have the "Centro Cultural Borges" a cultural center.
It's worth entering Galerias Pacifico to see the ceilings!

Dentro de las Galerias Pacificos esta el Centro Cultural Borges.
Vale la pena entrar a las Galerias para ver el techo!!
