I am planning a vacation to include Beunos Aires. How many nights should I plan to get a good overview. We like to walk a lot.
I would say for a first impression you would need at least 3 or 4 days. Perhaps longer if you also take a visit to the Tigre Delta and/or Colonia in Uruguay.

The second great building you can find in Plaza de Mayo is the Town Hall of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, seat of the Executive Power. This palace combine elements from diferent European styles, facade in italian neo-renaissance, sections recallling german architecture and mansards and coping stores in the French style. -
The best meat and asado in Buenos Aires is found in the small dirty and cheap parrillas, not the the nice and expensive restaurants. You will find these cheap ones everywhere, especially in San Telmo and near Plaza de Mayo too. Good luck!
Soccer (or football as we say) is for Argentinians as important as water for fish.
Please, take the time to go to see any soccer match, speacially River Plate vs. Boca Juniors.
You'll never feel so much adrenaline like when you are in a match like this. Go with friends, it could be a bit dangerous if you go alone. Don't panick anyway if you have to be alone, entire families assist to soccer matches but be prudent anyway.
El Ateneo Bookstore has many branches you can go to but I would recommend that you go to one on Avenida Santa Fe. It is located in an old theatre and is quite amazing. The store has an excellent selection of books for sale also!
As i told you i really had the great chance to attend to a wonderful HC meeting in buenos aires. thanks to my guatemalian friend, christian and the host, Carol. I was able to share that night with this excelent people and others. such, as yves, alejandra, carlos and many other friends.
The attention of the sttaff of this place was really satisfied, whats more we have celebrated christian`s birthday with a glass of wine. and that night was unforgetable...really liked it.
Then, i realized that argentinian nightlife is really, really WONDERFUL...so much fun, in spite that i`m not get use to spend the whole night in a place i would like to do again....
