The cemeteries are really interesting. Of course the Recoleta Cemetery where Evita is buried is interesting, but also check out the Chacarita Cemetary where Juan Peron and Carlos Gardel are located. The Gardel tomb is very interesting, almost festive. I had a great time on the BiciTour (shown below), a 3-hour bicycle tour operated by a local guy and his wife. You can get information at the Tourist Info sites.

I visited BA in Nov, 2004 (just as city was beginning to emerge from a few bad economic years). I found a wonderful service called, "Meet Buenos Aires", www.meetbuenosaires.com is how to locate them. They provide a quide for a very reasonable price who will take you anywhere you would like to go, and will help you find the best bargains on everything from goods to restaurants. Their language skills are excellent, and their friendly, honest guidance is simply terrific. I stumbled on them while surfing the web. I would call it, "Hire a friend" because I truly felt (as did my wife) that our guide, Estaban, became a friend. Always the best way to see a new place.
You must eat a flan
by wadekorzan
Flan is practically the national dessert, and probably you are already familiar with this dessert made of eggs and milk. You will find it on the dessert menu of almost every restaurant, and in many cases it is "flan casera", meaning home made flan. Many people also make it at home. Of all the desserts in Argentina, I think this perhaps is the most typical and I definitely wouldn't leave the country without having eaten it at least once. It is often servd with Argentina's other specialty, dulce de leche, which is like caramel.

You can't miss an 'asado' in a local home. Try to know some people from Argentina and ask them to invite you to their homes to do an 'asado'. I'm able to do it, just contact me.
This is one of the tipicals meals in Argentina, and it means much more than that, it's a kind of social ritual, where people share experiencies, chat a lot, sing, drink and eat, of course. Afterwards, go to a pub and then dancing
