Transfer airport to cruise terminal

by NeeNaVal

Need advice on best independent transfer from EZE airport to cruise terminal. What would taxi cost from airport to port? If expensive, what are other options? We arrive by plane about 12 hours before our cruiseboat sails, but we would like to spend some of that time exploring the city (without our luggage.)

The best way is arranging for a remise, that is private car and driver that will meet your flight and it will be a flat rate from EZE to the cruise port. The price will be the same as a taxi and you will have a much better car. Dante is fantastic and speaks fluent English. Price should be around $30 USD maybe more since prices seem to be rapidly increasing. His web is

He will meet you with your name on a sign in the arrivals hall so it makes it very easy for you. He also provides a tour of the city as well for an additional fee which you would need to agree to up front. But his fees are very reasonable. I would recommend booking sooner rather than later since he tends to book quickly.

The service I am using to get from EZE to Aeroparque is Manuel Tienda Leon -

This link shows the also have luggage storage. It has been recommended by others here on VT, and by my friend's son-in-law, who is from Argentina.

Looks like you may have more fun with the other guy though if you looked at the photos.

Thanks for all the helpful advice - we booked the early flight arrival so we'll have plenty of time to enjoy as much of BA as possible!

Travel Tips for Buenos Aires

by danwt99

Just take your time and dont try to rush out of the city. It has soo many different areas and neighborhoods you could spend a week there and not be bored. Make sure to spend a Sunday to visit all the markets. Lunch in a tango bar in La Boca. The woman that sang was just really classy and and excellent performer. On top of this the neighborhood is colrful and full of people. I also loved the antique area (I can't remember the name off hand) as it had great shops and restaurants.

Some tipping hints for Argentina, since that changes from place to place:

- Customary tip at a restaurant is 10% (not 15 like in the US) - although I find that on a large bill that's not something that is always followed. My friends always look at me like I am crazy if I try to leave more than 10 pesos for a tip.

- Cabs in Buenos Aires do not expect tips, so no need to tip them. At most round up your fare to the nearest peso (for convenience sake)

- You don't tip on takeout food. On food delivery anything up to 5 pesos is fine, no need to go a full 10%.

Beautiful Climate in the Summer - December

by maryellen50

Standard luggage. As the climate in December is summer, the weather tends to be in the high 70's and low 80's during the day and somewhat cooler at night but altogether PERFECT CLIMATE! Standard items I used both the digital camer and my Pentax with zoom.

When it rained I went to the modern and covered mall at Palermo called Alto Palermo which has some 200 shops and a foodcourt. To get there it is relatively painless as you can take the Subte (Metro) Line D to the Bulnes station which runs underneath this complex. It only cost 0.70 of a peso to get there.

A great find for Ferni

by Gypsystravels about Street Vendors

Ferni likes "manery" which is man jewelry and has some really nice bracelets and chains so whenever we travel, he likes to pick up some unique looking pieces and here on Florida Street we found exactly that.

We were coming back from dinner at Los Immortales and we decided to walk along Florida Street where there were street vendors lined up selling all sorts of stuff, from scarves to hair accessories, to purses and of course jewelry.

One particular guy was making leather cuff bracelets which had some sort of silver design making them quite attractive and unique. Ferni had to have one and after trying on a few, settled on a nice black leather cuff bracelet which he totally loves (lol). The vendors sell all sorts of things at really good prices. Ferni picked up a leather cuff bracelet for about $20 pesos. Ferni paid $20 pesos for a leather cuff bracelet.
