Two really good options for an Estancia Tour are: Estancia Don Silvano and Estancia La Alameda, both offer lodging services within their regular Gaucho party. These Estancias have a day tour that includes: reception with wine and typical Argentinean empanadas, horse back ride, tango and folkloric dance show, lunch with traditional barbecue and Show of Gaucho skills. So If you decide to spend the night in any of them, you will be able to take part of their gaucho day program which is see a nice way to learn more about the Argentine culture and folklore.

I know both, and I must say it really offer authentic experiences! I book online both with bsas4u.com and I know that they also have other Estancia tour.

Travel Tips for Buenos Aires

Being Touched Deeply

by Waterdance

Well, all the guidebooks mention the same about what to do....

But what many tourists do not know is that there are many professionals in Buenos Aires in the fields of dance & bodywork that are ready to give you a more then special experience.

This kind of sessions & deep experiences you can have elsewhere in sophisticated citylife, but first of all it deepens your holiday time in Buenos Aires and second the price-quality ratio is better here...!

A way of finding people: http://www.luciernaga-clap.com.ar/guia.htm My best memories of Buenos Aires are strolling through the city without having to do something special, shopping, visiting bookshops and eating icecreams, and as well sharing bodywork sessions, either giving or receiving, as it is the connecting of different worlds.

Cartoneros

by DPando

Not everything is nice and wonderful in a huge capital like Bs As ...indeed there are so much poverty wander around many quarters. you can see fathers and mothers with little kids begging around at any time ..you can notice it in La Florida boulevard into the business city ...cartoneros is the common name for those who are picking up carton around the city like on this pic On this pic these women dont be so friendly to be taken on the pic... i tried to conceal my intentions looking at the but jajajaa but i guess that they notice of my goal !!

On the second pic you can behold a "cartonero" in La Boca quarter ...carrying on a heavy cart overload by carton and whatever he can buy

On the third another one in the Bs As outskirts....actually its Florencio Varela municipality ..nothing to see believe me its the place further away from a tourist place!! ..25 km southwards from the city

Houses

by DPando

Its so typical houses have a garden in the inner side of the building... i saw almost all houses in the outskirts quarters like florencio varela on this way....just on floor or two as much with a gorgeous garden where sit and relax with mate or cooking asado ... amidst the shadows

Bar 'El Chino' A real Tango bar

by ncoutroulis

you won't find it in any guide book, and even the locals have never heard of this place. But oddly enough, there is a website, but only because they made a documentary about this place. The only place in the world where tango is sung as it was 60 years ago. The place is tiny, with only a few tables. There is no dancing, only two musicians at a time playing and singing the real tango music. We were the only tourists in there, for sure! and i'm sure they don't see very many ever.It 's in a very bad neighborhood, so even the taxi driver's don't want to go there. It's near the outskirts of town byr the coca-cola plant. We were lucky enough to have a driver take us, and stay with us inside. Trust me, this is the real deal. It's an experience you won't soon forget.

Mall in the northern suburbs

by Shakermaker about Unicenter Shopping Mall

In my opinion the best mall in the city.
Located 30 minutes from downtown Buenos Aires, Unicenter hosts all the most well known brands around the world as well as a 14 theatre complex and probably the biggest food court in the city.
Its modern aspect combined with the variety of its shops makes Unicenter the most popular mall in Buenos Aires.
If you want to shop at standard prices and have enough days in Bs As make sure you go to Unicenter. It can also be a great excuse to see the northern suburbs. Anything. The prices at Unicenter are average, since it is a mall, the prices are the same that in any other store.
