Photographers and creative people living in BA
by alyonav
Hi!
I'm a photographer and will be in BA March 15-25. I'm going by myself but hope to meet some creative people who like jazz, alternative music and photography.
Anyone?
I would also appreciate if you could let me know any small cool venues for the live music. I will be staying in Palermo Hollywood.
Thank you!

You might be have better luck joining this Ex Pats blog http://baexpats.org/
Not that you would not get some good responses here but this blog tends to stay more current on various venues than VT.

You could try Notorious, which is in Av. Callao 966.
It's a jazz bar with live performances.
Travel Tips for Buenos Aires
Friends of English Language
by cochinjew
While we, the english speakers, adore the way french or brasilian portuguese is spoken, there is undeniable pride in the fact that we speak the most prodigious language on earth and most of us, except americans of course, are rather good at it. So in my travels, it gives me great pleasure to see students trying to learn and speak it well..
like the young students from the foreign language university in Hanoi or the language institute of the university of Havana...the school girls of siem reap... English has truly become the universal language.
In Buenos Aires, Argentina there is a group of people who get together on Friday Evenings to practice their English with foreigners and I think this would be an excellent opportunity for a visitor to spend an evening with people who live there.

Confiteria La Ideal
by sof76
by sabrina_florida
Buenos Aires is packed with them. So if you want some fresh greens, don't hesitate to visit one. The prices are sometimes a bit more eexpensive than in supermarkets, but the products are much better and taste like REAL vegetables!
Caminar por la Av. Libertador,...

Daily covered market in San Telmo
by Dabs about San Telmo Market
Although I wouldn't visit San Telmo just for the purpose of seeing this market, should you happen to be in the area it's worth a visit to look around even if just for the ornate wrought iron interior. There wasn't much activity on a Thursday afternoon, but most of the antique vendors were open and some of the produce sellers. We browsed around for a bit but there was nothing that I just had to have.
