Good thing in this place is the staff. They go out of there way to help you in anyway they can. I even got a wake up call at 6am! The location is 10mins out of town but with the view from the lounge its worth every min! Would recommend this to anyone without hesitation! I KEV KEN rocks!

Milhouse Hostel: Buenos aires hostel

by RobyG

Great, clean and popular hostel with an incredible night life (beers and food are cheap and awailable all time). Good music and best place to meet travellers.
If you need something quiter just move to the next door as the street offer few quality options.

Different and valuable tours are offered. Well organized with city and tourist maps

Private Home of Marco and Margarite: Bariloche Accomodation as a "Cultural Experience"

by TravelinMike

The best laid plans are often best abandoned. I had identified a few potential hostels in advance of my long distance bus arrival from Osorno, Chile. My backpack caught the eye of a little old lady, Margarite, handing out flyers for rooms to rent in her home for approx $5US/night . Her broken Engilish and my broken Spanish allowed us to maintain a satisfactory level of communication. A short, inexpensive Taxi ride up the hill into the residential community overlooking the beautiful lakeside resort landed us in her cozy 4 bedroom home. I was introduced to her husband Marco in their welcoming living/dining space, where the hosts and guests congregated each morning for the complimentary toast and tea. The day of my arrival the US forces had just invaded Iraq and we watched it all on their cable TV. Spirited political exchanges ensued each morning as the fighting escalated. While they could not grasp the reason for our unilateral action (nor could I come up with a logical explanation), there was never a hint that their spirited politcal passions would ever compromise a warm interpersonal relationship. A beautiful international meeting of the minds and character study and a warm bed...all you could ask for!

Staying with a family in a warm family atmosphere allowed me to have a unique glimpse at how the financial collapse of a very proud country had affected these once very successful and still proud people. While the accomodations themselves were fairly sparse, the cultural exchange more than made up for it. It was an easy walk down the hill to the center of town...not such an easy walk back up the hill after a huge grilled steak at one of the many Parilla and a night of Tango and a few too many beers. But the taxi service was excellent and the fare was no more than pocket change.

Azul Residencia Universitaria: Very Nice Student Housing in Buenos Aires

by Nomadik

I stayed in Azul last year for a semester while studying in Buenos Aires. The place is beautiful! For the cost per night of a shared room (under 10 dollars) you can stay in something that looks more like a boutique hotel than a dorm! One down side is that they don't have so many single rooms - but on the plus side, the maximum in a room is 3 people. Also, though the bathrooms are very nice, they don't have rooms with private baths. Another plus is about half the students there are from South America - so if you are in Buenos Aires for a month or more, it's a good place to improve your Spanish. Minimum stay was a month when I was there. Multiple kitchens and living rooms, WiFi, refrigerators in each room, maid service, laundry, etc... I enjoyed my stay there a lot - very nice place.

Hotel Emperador: Central Location

by crazygal59

We stayed for two days at this hotel and found the service and accomodation excellent. This hotel is located on the border between the Recoleta area and Retiro. The rooms are lovely and the bathrooms are very large with lots of little extras like robes and all kinds of lotions and shampoos. There is a nice bar area off the lobby and a diningroom that looks out over a beautiful little garden. You can also eat outside or have a cold beer out there as well.

There is a very nice indoor pool and quite a good gym. Also this hotel is located within a 10 minute walk to the Bullrich Shopping Mall.

Club Tapiz: Great Place to Stay Near Mendoza, Argentina

by ginajosh

We stayed at Club Tapiz, just outside of Mendoza, for three nights in the Spring of '06. It's charming, small, artfully decorated, and sits on a vineyard with a winery on the premises (the winery is not in use except as a tasting room now). There is also a wonderful restaurant, a lovely staff, and a pool/tiny work-out room/spa services available. It really feels like home when you're there and it's closer to wineries than if you stay right in Mendoza. Obviously, though, you would have to take the 15 min. drive back into town to go out to restaurants/bars/the casino. etc. If you want to have quiet evenings and wine taste during the day, this is the place for you. If you want some action, stay in Mendoza for part of your stay at least.
