Mar del Plata is the biggest beach city near Bs As, and it is very beautiful and complete (great nightlife, hotels of every kind, huge casino) but unfortunately the beach of the argentine atlantic coast is not as nice as the caribbean. our waters are not transparent or blue and yes rather coldish. however if you don t mind this, you ll love our beach, waves are huge (great for surfing) and the sun is great, so are the people :) (i ve been to M d P last january myself).

what s great about MDP is that the sea has huge, humongous waves (not on this picture) which are a lot of fun.

Mar del Plata is located in Provincia de Buenos Aires on the Atlantic Ocean coast, 404 km south from Bs As city, the capital of Argentina.

it takes 5 hours to get there by bus, train or car and only 45 minutes by plane (from Bs As)

my favourite beaches are playa Varese (very close to downtown, of easy access) and La Caseta (popular with young people, it s like a disco in braw daylight).

there are many good restaurants but i suggest you try the seafood at the port restaurant!! it?s excellent!

there are many offers as to practice sports so you cant get bored in Mardel. also, try "el paseo en banana " (banana boat ride), it s pretty exciting!
