The small village of Ancasti has no more than 220 inhabitants and is located at 93 kilometers of the province capital city, to arrive you should climb the Cuesta del Portezuelo, unforgettable experience. The only accommodation in Ancasti is the Hosteria "El Paso del Indio", located at the top of the hill that dominates the scene over the town. This place is very modest, old fashioned construction, the people is warm and the place is comfortable. Even so you can eat in the small restaurante in there, don't expect haute cuisine even some international standards. Just home made food and regional products, like bread, corn, meat, goat cheese, etc.

Nice view over the small valley, very calm and silent place, direct contact with nature.

Directions: Top of the hill, Ancasti Village. I stayed two days in september 2002, there were few people, no need reservations.
