Hotel Cristal

The Cristal is located just one block off of Plaza San Martin. Can't get a much better location than that. There's a bakery and several cafes down the street. It's a nice looking place and has large, clean and well maintained rooms. The complementary breakfast was better than most. Helpful employees man the front desk 24/7.
Our large room had a private bath, cable TV, AC and an overhead fan. It cost (in early December - -not high season yet) about $28USD per night.
Strangely, our AC unit had no control. It either ran or it didn't. No thermostat. Got a bit cool towards early morning.
Another problem was that our room seemed to be located near a very noisy source of music. Bar? Radio? What? Just about bedtime, the racket poured into the room through the bathroom window. Luckily, the AC pretty much cancelled that out, so I was happy. Could have asked for a quieter room, but it really wasn't that much of an issue.

Unique Quality: A very comfortable place, friendly with a fabulous location. You can easily walk to many of the important sights, restaurants and great shopping.
