"Belgrano: Little Germany!"
We went to Belgrano for Oktoberfest, a ten day celebration of German-Argentine relations and the festival was surreal, just lite the village itself! - It certainly looked German- or rather how I imagine the villages in the Alps look like; The music was german folk- with Spanish lyrics; The food was german cooked on Argentinean parillas; The beer Argentinean with german sounding names!
Fiesta Nacional de la Cerveza, aka Oktoberfest has been celebrated here since 1964 and I would recommend anyone who are in Argentina in Octobertime to give it a go. It is such an event which brings crowds in from allover Argentina (and the rest of the world). The music and activities lasts all day long with parades, performances (yes it includes amazing joodeling) and of course knackwurst with sourcrout and the complementary beer! The beer is available in everyform, even in the local icecream! A must!!
Just a little mention of the greatest ride in the world> The Samba!! Gotta try it.. just remember to hold on!!!!!!
