More about Casa Glebinias
Nice place but far from Mendoza Centro
We spent 3 nights at Casa Glebinias and found the rooms nice, management very accomodating, and breakfasts more than adequate. The owners arranged a guide for two days and that was an excellent move as the Casa is about 25 minutes from Mendoza centro and it's not easy to get a taxi anf if you get one in town to return to the Casa many drivers have a very difficult time finding the place. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND having the management hire Gustavo to drive you to see the major sites. He took us to Aconcaguua and also to visit some wineries. He is a superb guide and provides good value.
our home in Mendoza
Casa Glebinias was a home from home in Mendoza. Having had great hotel experiences elsewhere in Argentina we were more than pleased when our expectations were met. The hosts were charming and helped us with winery tours and our cabin was warm, stylishly rustic and comfortable. I would highly recommend this establishment over some of the large chain hotels downtown for its peace and charm, and we hope to stay again if we return to Argentina.
Could not have been any better!!
Casa Glebinias met or exceeded every expectation.
The two homes on the property we rented for our group of seven were very well appointed, clean, very well maintained and offered plenty of room at a very reasonable rate. Be advised that they do not take Amex for payment, although I was told they were going to get set up for Amex soon.
They sit on a beautiful property behind a gate that offered lots of privacy. Our hosts and owners of the property, Alberto & Maria, could not have been more accommodating and kind. They were happy to make recommendations and book lunches, dinners, horseback riding, vineyard tours and anything else they could think of to help - they really took an interest in ensuring that our experience was everything we wanted it to be.
We rented two cars to get us around, and was glad to have them for trips into nearby Chacras and Mendoza City for shopping, eating etc. For further out destinations, Alberto introduced us to Eduardo, who drove us in a very comfortable vehicle that easily sat 12. Eduardo quickly became a good friend and guide whom new the area very well. For just $500 pesos ($166 U.S.) Eduardo drove all seven of our group into the Andes for a 10 hour day of breathtaking scenery and fun.
I would go back to Casa Glebinias without hesitation!
A Great Way to Spend Your Time in Argentina's Wine Country
Casa Glebinas was a highlight of our trip to Mendoza - and Argentina! This lovely, family-run lodge is hidden away in the countryside. You can book your own private cottage and explore their beautiful gardens. Be sure to treat yourself to the churascaria one night... you won't be sorry (but maybe quite full). We found the hotel on a website: [--] which provided tons of great tips and information on the area.
CASA GLEBINIAS: extraordinary rural hotel to stay in Mendoza
We, a group of 4 middle aged+ group, all professionals, spent all 3 nights when we stayed recently (Oct. 2007) in Mendoza in this marvelous rural hotel, CASA GLEBINIAS...the very nicely decorated small houses (cabins), with all comodities, refrigerator full of free goodies, beautiful sorroundings full of vegetation, made our stay very happy...like staying in paradise...the special charm of their refined but humble owners, María Gracia and Alberto, he a doctor of Geology, she a historian, was the difference between staying here or elsewere. We will not hesitate in fully recommending this place to stay...if you visit Mendoza, the famous wine city, DO NOT consider staying in any other place but in CASA GLEBINIAS..

beauty and relaxation
Really beautiful and homey property. We felt like we had the privacy we desired, but always had access to the knowledge of the awesome owners to venture out for dinner or wine tours. The grounds are full of great flowers. I think I took more photos of the roses than I did of the rest of the country! We love animals, so the cats that decided to join us in our room were loving and welcome. The dogs are really friendly too.
We planned poorly and did not have our wineries planned out. Our first day without a guide was a waste of time! The second day, with Gustavo, made up for it! My advice would be to contact Gustavo (www.gustavodelucci.com) for a very nice English speaking guide. He will set up the day and print out some info on the wineries you will visit. We lunched at Cava De Cano (sp?). I have never seen so much food for 2 people with our own private dining room. Definite experience.
There are many good things about this charming guest house, such as the comfortable rooms, beautiful gardens, fabulous breakfasts of freshly-baked breads and fresh-squeezed orange juice, but the thing we like most were the wonderful hosts. Alberto and his wife take such good care of their guests you think you are at home. They help find good local restaurants, help arrange winery tours, confirm flights, and even loan you their own bicycles. This is a wonderful place to stay, close enough to the wineries but not in the middle of the big city of Mendoza. We loved it and highly recommend it!
We just returned from several days spent at Casa Glebinias and it was a wonderful experience. The grounds are lovely, the casitas are graceful and comfortable, and Alberto and Maria Gracia, the hosts, are endlessly gracious. You wake up in the morning to birdsong, then pass the morning eating Maria Gracia's lovely beakfast at your private patio table (where you may be joined by Petra and Terra, their charming dogs), then wander up to the pool or perhaps to the main house, where Alberto can provide you with advice about what to do and where to go. It was a completely delightful experience and I highly recommend Casa Glebinias to anyone who will be visiting Mendoza.
Relaxing get away
My family of four stayed at the Casa Glebinias in late December 2007. The accomodiations were excellent. If you are looking to relax, then enjoy the garden, breakfasts and most importantly the hosts. Alberto and Maria Gracia were most helpful, speaking so many languages including English well. Alberto arranged many details for us. Due to the high season demand for drivers and cars, he lent us his car and son who is a wine maker for a winery tour. It does not get better than this. This is a very good place to be comfortable.
Delightful Country Cottages in Mendoza
Well what can we say - Casa Glebinias is a little gem nestled among the tranquil countryside of Chacras de Coria. There really isn't much more that I can add to what the other reviewers have posted, except to reinforce what a wonderful experience we had during our 2-night stay between Christmas & New Year. Highly recommended!!
