Not so far from town!

Hostel Inn is maybe the best hostel I’ve been to. It’s true that it may seem a bit impersonally and they are not very flexible, but I never saw so many people cleaning the bathrooms, the meeting point and even taking out the cobwebs from the roof.
I thought it may be difficult to be 5 km from town, but you have El Práctico which runs every 30’ and costs US$ 0.30. You can also have dinner at the hostel for US$ 5 (except beverages). They also make a decent but not spectacular barbecue three times a week for US$ 6. Taxis to town costs a bit more than US$ 3.
