This place is adequate. That is about as high a rating I can give it! It is cheaper than just about every other place in the area, with amenities such as A/C and cable tv. It's pretty old, the rooms smell like cigarettes and are musty, could use new paint jobs and bed covers. But it was clean. The showers have hot water. The internet did not work as the machine was loaded with spyware. The pool area is pretty dirty, I probably wouldn't swim in the pool. And they advertise a forested park area, but I didn't see one anywhere. Still, the staff was pretty nice. The breakfasts were really good (the dinners were NOT! Eat dinner elsewhere). The location is pretty good, about 2 minutes from the bus station and a ten minute walk to the center of town. Overall, I recommend this place for those on a budget, but if you can afford better stay at someplace like Orquideas (which is near a spa and the precious stones tour).
This is for you never miss this very good hotel with unique services...do not expect luxury there, it is a decent place for you to sleep and have total privacy!
It is also a way for you to memorize the TRES FRONTERAS AVENUE which is quite an interesting avenue because in both side of the pavements are full of trees!
I was stupid not to take picture of the rooms but I can tell you that it is ABSOLUTELY CONFORTABLE, SPACIOUS AND THE BATHROOM IS SIMPLY MAGIC. Great shower with hot water, hot and cold taps for you to have a perfect shave, big mirrors and ABSOLUTELY CLEAN WC.
Some say that it is a hotel, others say it is a hostel, the owners say that it is a hotel and WHAT A LOVELY SIMPLE HOTEL close to everything!!!
The ambience is quite confortable and we feel like we are at home, the owner Heidi is a very welcoming lady and she treats you like young sons and daughters!!!
The staff is very efficient, it is just a great place to sleep, they do not serve lunch and dinner because you are likely to do everything in the little town of Puerto Iguazu!
The building has a charming german stile and the owners heidi and Ricardo have german decent. The rooms are big equipped with nice toilets with very nice shower, everything is clean and they have lots of green space all all around!
Very easy location and the bus stop to the falls stands right in front of the hotel!
La Cabaña is a very cheap and wonderful option of accomodation in Puerto Iguazu!
This place is listed in the Lonely Planet...not sure why there's nothing special about it. You can a basic room (no dorms) with ensuite washroom and ceiling fan. There's a kitchen with a TV. The owner is a grandmother who lives, she speaks no English so it's good if you want to practice your Spanish.
A minute's walk to the bus station. No internet or breakfast.
Private room in a hostel that looked more like a 3 star hotel. The biggest and best pool in the town. Very clean and comfortable private room for $40 US. Very nice common area with leather sofa's, pool tables, ping pong tables, and more. They had an all you can eat BBQ with more than enough good quality Argentine beef, salad and side dishes to go around, for US$6.00. A nice way to meet fellow travelers. Simply awesome! You can also walk to and swim in the River about 20 minutes away. The staff was very helpful and very nice.
THE above link is a pretty detailed location to search for a variety of lodgings in Puerto Iguazu. 5 Star on down. Most have email links so you can easily contact them for rates and avail.
OK, this place is cheap so I didn't expect much. But what I did expect was a clean room... at least a clean bath. Neither bath nor room were clean, and I mean, quite ugly. On the fan at the ceiling: 3cm (1 inch) of dust. The sheets had stains. the aircon was very loud and the breakfast very poor.
When I complained about the cleanliness, the director Carmen shouted at me and insulted me. I am a tranquil person and I do not deserve being insulted by a hotel manager whom i pay for accommodation.
Bad service is one thing, insulting your guests another. I really do not recommend this place.
situated on the brazilian side of Foz, this hostel has shared rooms up to 6, cabanas for 2-4 and a campground.Run by a very charming bunch who will help you in everyway you require.
perfect location for a 'hostel'......closest one to the falls on the brazilian side, dont stay anywhere else!
The 2nd floor bedroom was spacious enough for our needs and also had a nice balcony with table and chair, giving us a view out to the Iguazu River. The bathroom was also adequate and, although all water was not working once when we returned from a trip, a call to maintenance had it flowing again in no time.
The air conditioning unit was just barely able to hold it's own in the summer heat, but it was enough to do the job. The mini-bar located in the fridge did not see much use. However, because the bar did not sell wine by the glass for our evening meals, it came in handy to keep our bottle of left-over white wine cold! The price of a whole bottle was A$20 (US$7) so in reality, about the same as a glass of wine in a fancy restaurant back home!
This a really nice hotel with a red brick façade. The entrance is very large, the rooms are clean and the swimming pool is cool!
The prorietary is friendly and like to tall with its guests!
Only problem : the fans were quite noisy! But it is possible to have air conditionned (I read that on their folder)
40 pesos for a double room with breakfast
The rooms are really clean, and the necessary fans are not that noisy ! Important in a city such as Puerto Iguazu...
Les chambres sont propres et les ventilos font pas trop de bruit ! Important dans une ville comme Puerto Iguazu...
Really cheap : 25 pesos (8 USD) for 2 with breakfast included. Laundry service, but no kitchen (except for boiled water).
Vraiment pas cher : 25 pesos (8 USD) pour 2 avec petit-dej inclus. Service de laverie mais pas de cuisine (sauf si vous voulez faire bouillir de l'eau).
