1) a day visit to Isla Victoria by catamaran
2) Cerro Lopez
3) Ventisquero Tronador
4) a walk in the Llao Llao park
5) a day tour to Puerto Blest and Laguna Frias by catamaran
There a lot more places to go.

Travel Tips for San Carlos de Bariloche

canyoning in Arroyo de la Virgen, Bariloche

by luzmaria

In Bariloche you can do canyoning, a type of adventure tour combining hiking with climbing and swimming in pools, canyons and rapids, jumping from natural springboards to deep pools, crossing the river with your team, walking on the rocks, rappel climbing in cascades and plenty of adrenaline.
Once you get to the top of the cascade, you can start your descent. Surrounded by exhuberant vegetation, these natural pools invite you to plunge into the stream.
In the steepest sector you use ropes for rappel.
In less steep sites you let yourself be dragged by the water sitting on the polished rock of the jumps.
The milenary natural slides carved by the persistence of the water are ideal for this kind of adventure.
Drift with the stream among rocks of different colors.
Suddenly the waters get faster and there s an exciting toboggan at the end of this fun challenge. Seduced by canyoning? The necessary garment includes a helmet, a harness and a neoprene jacket, which can be hired from the operator.
For those who wish to go canyoning for the first time, they recommend the 45 m. high cascade in Arroyo de la Virgen called Salto del Vasco.

Disembarking in Port Anchorena, you will be able to walk along paths surrounded by luxuriant vegetation where a variety of native and exotic trees (part of a former tree nursery) can be found. Among the various paths you can take, one leads you to Playa del Toro (Bull Beach) where it is possible to observe the rupestre paintings and rest on the beach, enjoying impressive panorama.-

San Carlos de Bariloche

by IIGUANA

San Carlos de Bariloche, or just Bariloche as most people know it, it's a southern argentinian city in the middle of the Andes and surrounded by the beautiful Nahuel Huapi Lake. It has some nice surroundings, and a lot of nice places.
I got the impression that this city grew too fast, and this involves the usual problems that increasing population brings. Anyway, it still has that "town" kind of sensation, and that makes it the perfect city.
