And in the way back from San Martin.....

When you get back, a good idea is to pass through Paso de Cordoba.... that trip really proves what is said about the odd weather in patagonia! You come from a place full of forests and lakes, to get into a desertic, dry land.....the rocks have been sculpted by nature along the years, originating various forms...and the most interesting part: absolutely no one around hehehe....no houses.....just you and the rocks!
East or west?

Look out for this sign on the road heading south from Bariloche towards Lake Gutierrez. It marks the Continental Divide, the point from which rivers to the east run eventually into the Atlantic Ocean whilst those running to the west make their way to the Pacific.
Bariloche

Bariloche is the main city in Argentina's Lake District. The whole area is absolutely beautiful and is definitely one of the highlights of Argentina. Located about 1000 miles (1600 KM) south of Buenos Aires, you can get there by car, bus, or plane.
