Travel from Buenos Aires to Bariloche

by vlatimer

I am going to be coming to Bariloche in early September but I'm not sure the best way to get there. I am getting ready to purchase my plane ticket and need to know the best method of traveling to Bariloche from either
Buenos Aires or Mendoza. I was trying to price plane tickets and also
bus tickets but am having a hard time figuring it out. Any advice you have would be a huge help. Gracias!

Look into ViaBariloche, the best company going from Buenos Aires to Bariloche. They won't go from Mendoza though. I would say Mendoza to Bariloche is too long and you have to connect to another bus, probably in Neuquen. I did Mendoza to San Martin de los Andes once and it was just too long. Andesmar does a good bus from BA to Mendoza. Plane vs bus, depends how much time you have.

Frontera - Argentina /Chile - Border

by elpariente

Cerro Campanario

by andal13

Cerro Campanario is one of the several hills at Nahuel Huapi National Park. It si not very high, but from the top, you have the most beautiful sight of lakes and mountains.
There are cable-chairs to go up to the top.
This is another stop on Circuito Chico trip.

Lakes and mountains, forests and falls

"The beauty of Bariloche...."

Everyone who'd been there told us Bariloche was beautiful, and how right they were.

Not the town, which, hotels and restaurants aside, doesn't have a lot to offer beyond a long street seemingly lined with chocolate makers, knitwear emporiums and icecreameries; a small museum and a tall-steepled, grey-stone cathedral. The true glory of Bariloche lies in its wonderful location. The town is set down beside Lake Nahuel Huapi, the largest of the lakes of Northern Patagonia, and ringed by the mountains that make this a mecca for skiiers and trekkers at different times of the year - the centre of a region of absolutely stunning natural beauty.

The long-time favourite of holidaying Argentinians, and now a firmly-established destination on the incoming-tourist trail, I'm sure there must be times when the crowds outweigh the pleasure ... but this was not the case for us. Early November is just the beginning of the summer season so nowhere was crowded and there were places we went that we could call all our own entirely. Each day took us into a world where Nature reigned supreme - days of relaxed excursions over and around the lake to deep enchanted forests, panoramic viewpoints, an eerie landscape of black ice ....

I've no doubt there are bars and nightspots aplenty in the town, but you'll have to look elsewhere to find word of those. All that sunshine and fresh air found us dining fairly early with a bottle of good Argentinian red, sampling some of the aforementioned icecream, and falling asleep as our heads hit the pillow. By the time we got to the airport to take our next flight we were so relaxed we took a cancelled flight and a six hour delay in our stride!
