Booking flights from Buenos Aires to Salta?

by tnish

How do I buy the cheapest airline tickets from Buenos Aires to Salta, in early Sept 2006? My wife and I will be visiting from New York.

Most recs name airlines that are since defunct, and Kayak.com quoted about $600 US.

Thanks for your advice!

you may have to navigate Aerolinas Argentina. For anyone outside of Argentina, it really makes the most sense to find a good Argentine-based travel agent, since their pricing is a bit, well, weird.

good luck.

just a thought to the OP...they use the $ is Argentina...but you should generally divide the $ by 3 for USD. (that may be why the travel agent could find you that fare!)

in general, USD is written differently, I forget exactly how, but something like U$ when talking the greenback!

The $ sign means pesos. The American dollar symbol is US$ or USD.

Travel Tips for Salta

The second shopping street : Florida

by ptitetoile

There is a second pedestrian street next to Alberdi : this is Florida. With also a lot of electronic and clothes shops but also a giant supermarket, very pratical to make some provisions before a long car ride ;-)
