Finca de la Medialuna: Rural accomodations

As i wanted to see both Ischigualasto and Talampaya National Parks the travel agents suggested staying at a small farm/hotel off the beaten track. It seemed fairly newer and remote when i visited in Nov. 2005. The pictures on the website now give it a much more polished appearance. This is not an actual estancia. Accomodations were comfortable and simple (at the time) with spacious rooms and a good view. When you drive in you are struck by all the candelabra cactuses and how incredibly clear the stars are at night.

Meals were prepared by the family that runs the place and they were very nice. We had lamb for dinner which was delicious. They have many sweets produced there as well (though my sweet tooth isnt great) and delicious bread and empanadas.

You are out in the country here. its very peaceful and quiet. I enjoyed the couple of days we spent here,

Hospedaje Ischigualsto: Good Accomodation in Valle Fertile

This place is simple but adequate. It is a family’s home that has been converted to accommodate travelers. It has about ten small rooms with two beds in each and one bathroom/shower. There are no cooking facilities available nor any other amenities that you might expect at a hostel in the city. It has a great “local” feel about it.
