This view is from the Jose Marti Street. The architect in this city is very rustic, and there is also a law where it is not allowed to build tall high rises because this is an earthquake zone. In the 1940's a massive earthquick rocked this city and all of the original buildings built by the Spanish in the 17 century were flatened because of this there is no original old colonial town like in most cities in South America. The cathedral in the center of town is a perfect example of a modern building.

This picture was taken in June 2002 which is winter in Argentina. This is what the landscape looks like. Its a very dry area and its the ultimate topography for grape growing for the wine industry . This was on the way to the park in the Ullum Valley.
