Aguas Mansas: Basic Accomodation
This is a basic, family run lodging. The place seems to have been built in the 80's and hasn't been updated since then. Rooms are small, the included breakfast is passable. It seemed to be occupied mostly by Argentine families. As a place to sleep it is fine and at least it is close to the water and the downtown area and yet in a quiet residential neighborhood.

Complejo Los Troncos: Complejo Los Troncos
The Complejo Los Troncos house is built pretending to be a typical patagonian house all covered in wood. From the outside it's really nice. The dining room, where breakfast is served is very nice too. Breakfast is comprised of toasted bread, jam, pastries, coffee, tea and chocolate. Nothing out of this world, but really tasty. The room was OK. It didn't have an A/C but during the night it got a little cooler, so we could sleep just fine. All in all, it's a good place to stay if you don't want to spend too much money and be near the beach.
Unique Quality: Really close to the beach (just 4 blocks) and the restaurants. Has a place to leave your car.

HiPatagonia: Best Hostel one can find in Puerto Madryn
I would highly recommend this hostel to everyone who looks for cheap, clean and well-situated hostel in Puerto Madryn. And of course Gaston, the owner and manager, is unbelievable!!! So attentive, so well-wishing and you do not have to worry what you will do during your stay there. He arranges for you everything. Perfect place and people! every 3 days a party for hostel guests!!!

Hostel El Gualicho: El Gualicho
I stayed at this hostel for 3 nights. I was with a friend and we slept in a four bedded dorm. All the staff from the hostel are young, nice people, always ready to help in anyhing you need. They can book tours for the different attractions, as well as recommend what to do and where to eat in Puerto Madryn.
The people staying at the hostel were also mostly young people, although there were some families too, as the hostel has private bedrooms also.
The hostel has a kitchen were you can cook whatever you want, and there's a fridge to store your food. Breakfast is included. You can also rent bikes there.
All in all, a very nice place to stay.
Unique Quality: Great people, great staff, great place!

Residencial Manolo: The Most Helpful Hoteliers In Town
Not the fanciest place in town but quite possibly the friendliest.
The couple who own the hotel will book you onto any of the wildlife tours you want. When a couple turned up at the hotel too late to get a place on one the owner drove them behind the tour minibus for the day to prevent them missing out!
Breakfast (coffee, tea and pastries) is served half an hour before whichever tour you asked for starts so there's no reason to miss out or get up too early.
In addition to the bedrooms the hotel also has an appartment (where we stayed) which is extremely good value - one double room and another with 2 single beds, a living room/kitchen and bathroom for about $50 a night.
The hotel is 2mins from the beach and restaurants/cafes, opposite an internet cafe, next door to a deli and 5mins from a supermarket.
Highly recommended.
Single: $30
Double: $40
Triple: $45
(all prices in argentinian currency)
Unique Quality: NB The owners only speak basic English - so if you're hoping to have a conversation some Spanish would help

HOTEL PENINSULA VALDES: TRADITIONAL
Bigger than Bahia Nueva Hotel, with the plus of a great view over the surroundings coz is a tall building.
Amazing sunrises, when I stayed in there wake up at 5 am in summer just to watch the sun appearing on the horizon line of the sea. Awesome.
Of course, after that back to bed and still sleeping till ten :-)
Classical, eclectic and a little bit cold design, but is a good choice.
Unique Quality: The view from the front rooms, the hotel was designed trying to give this view almost all the rooms.

HOTEL BAHIA NUEVA: ALMOST LIKE HOME
This small hotel located facing at the ocean is very comfortable.
Simple and well designed, warm people and good services, is my choice each time we visit Puerto Madryn.
The desserts are greats, home made marmelades of patagonic fruits, smelling breads, fresh juices, and with the amazing view to the gulf beside the pier.
Unique Quality: Comfy, cheap, almost new, great people.
