Apartments Posada Caracoles: Very nice alternative to stay
The apartments at Posada Caracoles are situated on the Avenida de las Ballenas and are recently built. I stayed there in July 2012 for a couple of days and it's a very nice alternative to the hotel in the village. The sympatic english speaking (!) host, Gaston, is actually a tourist guide and knows about everything around and provides with the best tips on where to go, eat etc. He also runs a lovely shop with handicrafts and regional specialties. The apartments are all equipped with a kitchenette and TV.

Cabanas en el Mar: Good Option For Families
This is the first group of cabins on the left side as you enter the town. All units are 2-storey A-frame with a kitchenette, bathroom, and bed downstairs, and another bed upstairs. The wood construction is quite weathered and the kitchen area is a little rugged, but they are kept very clean and all in all we were satisfied.
From the upstairs balconies you can see the water and whales swimming/breaching in the distance.

The Paradise: have you ever been there ??
Surrounded by a splendid environment, the inn has 12 rooms, all of them overlooking outdoors and with fully-equipped private bathroom. They include 2 suites with hydromassage bath tubs. The inn can accommodate 36 people in its rooms and 4 more in one cabin. Services include heating and ventilation, TV, IDD and NDD, facsimile, e-mail, maid, room service and hot water 24 hours a day.
Optional services: laundry. Recreational: bicycles, diving, horseback rides, sandboarding, fauna watching, etc.
The Inn hosts also a beautiful and original Pub (see Tip!); the whole thing run by motivated, friendly and capable young people, making the stay as convenient and excellent than nearly never experienced that way !
Modern, nearly luxurious rooms, good and friendly service. Extraordinary good (sea-)food, and winelist. Due to its unique position in Piramides Bay all kind of watersports, fishing, sandboarding, hiking, diving etc can be done with expert guides

PATAGONIA FRANCA: FACE TO FACE WITH THE OCEAN
I stayed here only one time, in january 2002 when this hotel were just inaugurated, so, promo prices (cheap really) and almost empty only for us. Rooms looking at the beach and the sea so close, lovely balconies, comfortable rooms and nice decoration, with a good restaurante beside the lobby, facing the sea too. Today this hotel keep all those characteristics except the price. Targeted to the foreign tourism on high season the prices are astronomically high for locals, so bye bye Patagonia Franca...
The view from the rooms facing to the sea is absolutely marvelous, because the building is right on the starting of the beach, the blue waves of the South Atlantic looks so close that are a spell on you, exciting when the ocean show his stormy face.

ESTANCIA LA ELVIRA: THE LOCAL LIFE OPTION
In the Estancia La Elvira ("estancia" is some like the american "ranch") everything is smooth and calm. The silence is the sovereign and the wild life walk an jump around you. Typical countryside lifestyle, foods and costumes. The sea is a constant presence dominating the scenery.
Warm people, and excelent services. Solitude, landscape, life, clean air and blue waters. Colonies of sea wolves, seals and the whales wandering the coastline.
Eight double rooms, restaurant, play room, library, excursions, and a stunning views of sunsets and sunrises. Billions of stars by night tilting in the most clear sky you ever seen.
80 kilometers from the Village of Puerto Piramide and 180 from Puerto Madryn city. The whole patagonia for us.

HOSTERIA PARADISE: AUSTERE BUT SUITABLE
Located at Puerto Piramide, 100 meters from the beach of the Golfo Nuevo (Pto Piramide is located almost in front of Pto Madryn, at 90 kmts by car, take a look of the map at the Intro Page)
This simple hostal is austere but with a nice location, at just meters from the Watching Whales services (2° Bajada)
Beside this hostal and with the same name (same owners...) there is the Paradise Restaurant.
Located at Puerto Piramide, Peninsula Valdez.
Pto Piramide is a small village with no more than 800 hundreds inhabitants. Amazing.

Hostería Estancia del Sol: There must be some place better
This was the hostel were our group lodge: a particular experience is what I can say. The rooms have 2, 4 or 6 beds and private bathroom. Not all the rooms have heating (it is a "detail" especially where the temperature by night is below zero), water is narrow and not always hot; the construction is a little bit precarious.
I have to say that the restaurant gives good home made food, with abundant rations.
A su favor debo decir que el restaurante ofrece buena comida casera, con raciones abundantes.
