A small gem in San Martin de los Andes

This is a small, perfectly appointed bed and breakfast in San Martin de los Andes where we stayed. It is a carefully restored old house, one of the few wooden houses left in San Martin. It is family run and they have taken great care with every detail. The bedrooms are simply furnished, with plenty of closet space, modern bathrooms and wonderful beds. The sheets are pure luxury. The only meals served are breakfast and afternoon tea and both are a wonderful display of freshly baked breads and cakes. You can also have afternoon tea even if you are not staying there. We had a car but found we could walk to anywhere we wanted in town. The lake shore is about a block away and all the restaurants were within easy reach. There is a small, heated pool in the garden which we did not use, but we did like sitting out in the garden to relax in the late afternoons. I think this is more a hotel for couples than families. It seemed like a perfect place for a honeymoon.

Unique Quality: The house is one of the five or so remaining wooden houses built by the first pioneers to settle in San Martin de los Andes and has been beautifully and carefully restored. The quality of the rooms is way above average for the price. The road it is on is a dead end, so you are guaranteed a good night's sleep. There are no televisions in the rooms, but you can request one if you need it.
