Snowy Peaks
by Sharrie
The first day I arrived was in the late afternoon. It was dizzling & that made the town colder than I had thought. & the darkness made it pretty much depressing.
So, I decided to stay in the hotel, which I've no idea how far/close to town.
I later found out the next morning that is't not that far to walk but neither is it that near. About 15 mins away by foot. On a nice day, that's actually very comfortable to walk. On a wet day, forget it!
Luckily for me, the next day was a very nice day. This is almost the very first view I saw on a clear day from where I had my breakfast. It was also then that I decided Ushuaia is not bad at all. In fact, it was that very day that I realised how much I like it :-)
Seagulls
by andal13
As Ushuaia is situated at Canal Beagle, sea birds are quite common, especially the seagulls. Looking at them, or even feeding them, seems to be a common activity for Ushuaian people. Close to the port I found this vehicle surrounded by seagulls; the driver was feeding them, so the birds waited for their turn.
Trekking
by andal13
Well, this sport activity is cheaper than the previous ones! Trekking is free, and Ushuaia has a lot of places where to hike (especially at Tierra del Fuego National Park and Martial Mountains).
The picture shows a trekking path close to Martial Glacier.
You will need good trekking boots (or similar shoes). Forget your stilettos!
necesitarán buenas botas de trekking (o zapatos similares). ¡Olvídense de los tacos aguja!
