Has the road to Santa Cruz from Cochabamba re-opened? Is it possible to take the bus from Cochabamba to Santa Cruz? I will not be in Cochabamba until November but would like to know my options on getting from Cochabamba to Santa Cruz.
The road is open right now and no problem in travelling. Now, maybe in November the situation can change but currently, it is OK
When the new road is close they rely on the older road so there is always some way to get between Santa Cruz and Cochabamba- The only thing is that the older route takes a couple hours longer. I'm sure you'll be fine in Nov.
Dear friends, I found a great web resource: http://www.bolivia-online.net. I guess it is the most detailed online guide about Cochabamba with tourist information, photos of sights, lists of hotels, restaurants, bars, discos, cinema, language schools, places for volunteer work, rent a car, tour agencies, etc. Don't miss the nightlife in Cochabamba, it is one of the best in Bolivia and is worth to stay for the weekend in town!
In itself there is not a lot in the city for the visitor in the way of attractions but it does have some fantastic people and a good night scene. The pace is relaxed, which is typical of Bolivia, and I enjoyed a very pleasant week here. Photo here is of friends chilling after visiting a nearby village fair.
