Budget accomodation in the centre

We stayed here for two nights in 09/2002, waiting for plane to Rurrenabaque. The main value of this hotel is the proximity to the centre - only ca 50m to Calle Comercio and some 1/4 km to Plaza San Francisco.
Shared, but good functioning showers, helpfull staff, good price (Bs 70,-)

The only problem was however clearly visible on our bodies - we weren´t alone in our beds, we shared them with some fleas or similar "friends". That´s the reason why this hotel can be only conditionally recommended, although the cleanness did not seem to be general problem in this hotel.

Unique Quality: Perfect, central location, despite that very quiet street

Good cheap backpacker's hostel with internet

Hostal Austria, in Calle Yanacocha not too far from El Prado is a good place to stay, the rooms are quite dismal and depressing but functional, and there's a communal lounge with a TV, and a computer with internet access which is very useful as many internet places shut at night.

Unique Quality: Internet access, good location in a lively part of La Paz
