Decent Hotel

Hotel Rosario is pretty nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and have cable tv, heaters, hot water, and phone. They do offer free wi-fi connections although they are not very dependable. Good breakfast. Good location. My only complaint is that I can get a better room at Hostal Naira for half the price. I stayed here only for the internet connection.

excellent place to stay in the midst of everything

Hotel Rosario is an excellent hotel with a staff that knows what they're doing! The rooms are nice (don't let the seemingly shoddy room doors put you off though, it's safe), the restaurant/breakfast is good and the free internet, either in the "Ayni" lounge or upstairs in the cafe, is a welcome treat.

Unique Quality: The location is perfect- a couple of minutes by foot, and you're in the Witches' Market, on the Plaza San Francisco, the Prado or Plaza Murillo.

Tambo Colonial Dining Room

The hotel restaurant, Tambo Colonial, is quite good. Facing east, it catches the morning sun while you make your selections from the breakfast buffet. The "continental" breakfast includes many kinds of bread and fruit, as well as yogurt and muesli.

For lunch or dinner, their quinoa stew (11 Bs.), made from the ancient Andean "supergrain," is served with a tasty bread and can be a whole meal. Their lake trout with almonds (34 Bs.) is excellent and includes the salad bar, potatoes and vegetables. Don't miss the dessert, Crepe Rosario (10 Bs.); it is "muy rico!"

AYNI Room for Mutual Help

Their AYNI room is unique. AYNI in the Aymara culture means a reciprocal relationship where two different people help each other mutually because each one is lacking what the other has. In an AYNI, a service is offered knowing that in the future this help will be returned in kind. You will find all sorts of information in the AYNI room. It is also a gathering place for guests to chat, enjoy the free teas, and use the free internet service.

Unique Quality: The AYNI room has free hot water and many kinds of teas, including mate de coca.

Hotel with AYNI

Small friendly hotel in a good location about 3 blocks from the Witches Market. Rooms surround a nice courtyard. Has hot water 24/7, electric space heater, free breakfast, free internet access, free hot water and teas, and free luggage storage. Ricardo and Aldofo at the front desk will help make your stay a good one. The Fair Trade shop has some pretty good deals too. Their webpage is www.hotelrosario.com.
