A huge city
La Paz is endless. It is located on several hills, so if you go to a high place you will see the never ending little houses spreading around like a gian carpet.
Anyway, the city centre is small, don't worry!

Hey all I want to go from Rio to La Paz and think cheapest way and best way without traveling for tooo many days will be to fly to Cochabamba and then bus to La Paz.
How do I book a bus from Cochabamba to La Paz? Do I book on the day? and where from? or can I book on the net?
How much does it cost?
Flying to Cochabamaba is a good idea, first of all because you get acclimatised to the altitude.
Flying in to La Paz often gives people altitude sickness, but Cachabamaba is kinda half way when it comes to altitude and if you spend a day there before continuing to La Paz then you should be fine.
Busses between the two cities are frequent and i would not bother to book in advance.
That can easily be done upon arrival at a local ticket agency.

While I know it is done by many tourists, going to the SW Altiplano is like no other expereince I have ever had on Earth. I do beleive it is God's own Canvas complete with color, creativity, vastness, and complexities. The Grand Canyon is awesome. The Serengeti magical. But this is one place I will never forget. My fondest memory of La Paz is going to the worlds highest Mickey D's and getting Coca Tea. I know really western but I had been camping for almost two months at that point!
Sometimes, you might prefer to stay in the city, after a great tour around the city. so i suggest to visit the cinema. one of the best cinemas in La Paz is Monje Campero. where you can see the newest movies.
you can get this cinemas on the main avenue, which is 16 de julio. you can not miss it is in the centre of the city.
One of my best movies that i`ve seen with two friends at this cinema is THE LORD OF THE RINGS.Lol. noooo, do not laugh at me. it´s true!
Uno de los mejores peliculas que he visto con dos de mis amigos extranjeros es El Señor e los Anillos. je, je. nooooo, no se rian de mi es cierto.
The Coca museum, up Calle Santa Cruz about 3rd left halfway down and on the right, look for it its not obvious.
As a driver I have to recommend driving (Imbex car hire). Drive very defensively and don't pay too much attention to traffic lights! The bustling city life and lack of Gringos!
