Qollas and Cambas
by monica_pons
Santa Cruz is a mix of races, Qollas and Cambas or Cruceños.
I were taking some pictures from Santa Cruz and a Camba shouted me that it was better to take monument pictures than Qolla people. For the Cambas the Qollas are the lower class. I didn’t take any monument picture from Santa Cruz.
Public phones
by andal13
Public phones are really great! They are not inside graceless callboxes, like everywhere; they are inside typical birds!!!!
¡Los teléfonos públicos están buenísimos! No están metidos dentro de cabinas sin gracia, como en todas partes; están dentro de aves típicas!!!
The river
by angelayjose
Unfortunately, I dont know the name or where it is, but there is a river in Santa Cruz. When you enter, on both sides there are huts where you can eat, dance, or drink a beer. You can also rent 4 wheelers (about 80 Bolivianos an hour) which comes to less than $10. You can also rent horses. These you can ride through the jungle on. It is a beautiful place. You must go on a day when you want to relax.
The 9th Ring
by monica_pons
The oil peak started on 1940, made that Santa Cruz de la Sierra developed so quick and the city in less than 50 years past from 100.000 inhabitants to more than a million. This has caused a lot of immigrants live in conditions of extremely poverty, without water or light. The city grow fast than the authorities can plan. In the 9th ring there is the PLAN 3000 of New Men. I didn’t find the 9th ring in my map. We went to la “Choza” (hut), that it’s the hut of Monsignor Castellanos, Asturias prince award. I found a person full of vitality and happy with his work. He share the work like one more, in palace all are the same.

There are many cute little parks everywhere. Also, there are many statues. They are of crosses, Jesus, dinosaurs, and other things. All the parks have their own uniqueness to them. You must check them out.
