Camino Real, Santa Cruz: Camino Real
A very nice hotel with excellent service. Spacious rooms with pleasant decor. This was a very nice "home base" for seeing the city and it is a very nice "resort" hotel.
Unique Quality: They have a very nice business center with plenty of computers, free Wi-Fi, and DSL connections. The WI-FI is marginal in some of the rooms but there is DSL for a nominal charge. The fitness center with showers and sauna was very nice and the staff was very accommodating by opening earlier than normal for us. The pool area was very pleasant; we were there in the off season, so it was not crowded. The best part of the hotel was the staff, they were very friendly and willing to help, I only wished there were a few more English speaking staff.

Alojamiente Santa Barbara.: Cheap but not really cheerful.
The staff are friendly and helpful, the prices are low. Rooms are nice and clean but the sound travels easily in the enclosed and tiled courtyard. Toilets are clean and showers are usually hot (except when someone flushes the loo's or uses the taps!!). Hardly any of the doors shut, let alone lock. No cooking facilities at the moment (May 2006) as the gas is not connected and it seems the electricity has gone in the kitchen. Beds are slightly backbreaking. (I say slightly, I mean very.) The Laundrette opposite (Think its called Lavenderia Sofia) is cheap, efficient and the staff are nice. Central location is convenient. Not sure if its the least expensive accomodation but it works out as roughly 3 pounds sterling.
Good if youre looking for very cheap bed for the night and not much else.

Los Tajibos: Los Tajibos - Excellent business hotel
This is probably the best hotel in Santa Cruz. it is in the upscale Equipetrol area.
Unique Quality: Unlike other business hotels, this is not a highrise building. The hotel is on two floors with spacious rooms centered around the pool area.
Ideal for the business traveler is the wireless area around the pool and restaurant.
