Pousada Casa das Aroeiras: Cosy bed and breakfast

I had been 2 times in Itacaré, and all these times in Posada Casa das Aroeiras, the last time for 1 month! The owners are friendly and one of them is the architecture of this charming bed and breakfast.

Unique Quality: It´s clean and organized, good breakfest and easy access to the beach and the city centre. Beautiful garden where sometimes you can see little monkeys, birds... Cosy atmosphere. Good price.

Pousada Pouso da Terra: Hidden in a Green Garden

Pousada Pouso da Terra is situated 100 meters from the beach Praia da Concha and only one minute from the small town centre. It is hidden in a tropical garden where you can see monkeys and birds. The place is perfect for those who want to relax.

In the morning they serve delicious tropical breakfast. The stuff is nice and if you are lucky you may even meet a Dutch owner Miriam. She is really friendly and helpful with the information regarding beaches, surfing, restaurants and nightlife. Besides portugues she speaks english and dutch.

Unique Quality: The place have four simple apartments for up to five people. All apartments have a veranda with hammock, ceiling fan and bathroom. There is also a house which you can even rent for a longer period.

PS I've just looked it up in the Internet and it seems that the place doesn't exist anymore :(

Pappa Terra: Very expenisve but low on quality

3 sleepless nights in an old bed with worn out mattress, smell of sewage around my room....

2 times the price of other pousadas in the area.

Not happy!

Do not be fooled by the pretty website.

Unique Quality: Old small swimming pool, more of a water tank..
Large tour groups on tour packages.
Lots of noise

Pousada Sao Jorge: Itacare Ilheus best clean budget pousada hotel

The Pousada is centrally located for someone visiting Itacare and needs an overnight stop in Ilheus enroute to or from nearby Itacare on Bahia's "Costa de Cacau". This a major tourist area for surfing, jungle trecking, beautiful beaches and great restaurants, as well as the birthplace of Brazil's famous novelist, Jorge Amado. My wife and I have stayed several weeks here while on vacation from my teaching job. At present the winter rates are 25 reals for a single and 35 reals for a double room. (less than $20 dollars US). Rates can go up during the Brazilian summer season: Dec, Jan, Feb, to about 60 Reals $US $27.00 per day for a double air conditioned room.
It located one floor above the street, is quiet, and safe, as only the receptionist opens the door to and from the street. Breakfast is included, with coupons given to eat a buffet style breakfast "kit"in the bakery on the ground floor. All rooms have bathrooms, an air conditioner, ceiling fan, electrically heated shower, tv, and refrigerator. There is a large reception area to sit, read and write or watch tv.

Unique Quality: The city's main central bus stop is in front of the hotel, that goes to the beaches to the north and south of the city. If required there is at least one room with 8 single beds. There are pharmacies, supermarkets, travel agents, money exchange, beach and bars within close walking distance nearby. Buses to and from Itacare stop at the Rodoviara about 10 minutes bus ride from the pousada. There is also a taxi stop outside. The pousada is run and operated, by a small, friendly family: husband, wife and son.

Pousada Vira Canoa - Itacare: A Hammock, A palm-tree & a Pool...

We Stayed at The Pousada Vira 1st May 2006 for 10 nights. We would highly recommend this Pousada. Although in low season, the temperature in Itacare was around 30 degrees or so. We had a very relaxing time. You get a hammock to lie about in on a terrace, ours overlooked a massive palm-tree, the balcony overlooked the pool. The pool is visited by little birds, its idyllic. The breakfasts are varied and there's a selection of meats, cheeses, cakes, fruit, cereals, fruit-juices. This Pousada is only about a year old. The people who are working there were very helpful and friendly, we were the only non Brazilian tourists staying at Vira Canoa at the time and we needed some help with translation. In the room there was HBO Films in English with Portuguese subtitles. We had contacts for the local eco tourism office, with whom we arranged a trip to the Marau Pennisula.

We booked through a friend, whose wife is a Brazilian Travel Agent. There didn't appear to be any reviews that I could find for this Pousada but it is quite new, the web-site is extensive and there are lots of photographs so take a look.

Unique Quality: The rooms are beautiful and the linen smells wonderful.
There is a lovely pool in meticulously maintained gardens.
The shower was good and the bed came with a mosquito net.
The air-conditioning was very good.
The bar serves wonderful snacks and I can recommend the cocktails (particuarly the ones containing coconut and condensed milk!).

Pousada Itacare: Pousada Itacare

One of the best people I met in Brazil were in this hostal, from the staff to the people who was renting a bedroom there.
Jefferson, his little brother and Newton will help you on everything, not only in the hostal, you can ask them anything about the town and they?ll help you.
The bedrooms are clean, with TV and fridge.
The breakfast is included in the price, and is excelently cooked by Newton.
The prizes are between 20/15$R.

Posada De Lua: Posada In Itacare

Well, as the couple who own this lovely place describe it as a 'Posada in the rainforest'. But its walking distance to the beaches. Which most things are in Itacare. However I enjoyed this, over a different Posada I stayed in because of the owners. The wonderful breakfast they serve you in the morning is set on a rustic but very clean table right beside the rainforset. The little monkeys will come to watch you eat. The owners were very friendly and the rooms were always clean.

Unique Quality: As Posadas go, they are not offered for their great ammenities. They are cheap. We had mosquito nets, a warm shower, and clean sheets. There is a lot of foliage around the place, so a sence of privacy was achieved. The food was fresh, great fruit, warm coffee, fried bananas!
