One of earth's many paradises lost
"Praia do Forte, Bahia"
A secluded, almost untouched by humans (they are making their way there with resorts, restaurants, and enclosed communities). We visited a sea turtle rescue and sanctuary. The beaches are becoming more and more popular now that better facilities are taking hold of this paradise.
Very nice architecture. However, the place is "falling apart". Too bad Brazil is so slow to invest in restoration of old buildings and neighborhoods. They could bring a whole lot more money into the economy if they only paid more attention to its patrimony. But still, you can appreciate the architecture and history in this part of town. The annoying thing is all the street vendors trying to sell the "correntinhas" and other junk.
One of the many famous local foods...don't see what the fuss is all about. It's a deep fried, white bean "bolinho".
You'll get a lot of fresh seafood in Salvador.
