Going to Salvador da Bahia, Brazil March 4-17

by Creatimprov

Hello, will be traveling to Salvador in March and would like to know what precautions should I take with using a camcorder? Also what kinds of health precautions should I take? Thanks.

Beside the usual required/suggested vaccinations, you should have little problem. I have always found the water to be filtered and safe (in ice and for brushing teeth). Cold bottled water is available everywhere as well. Food has never been a problem either.

I would not advise using a camcorder, especially if not in a group. Bring a small digital that fits in a small waist-pack and keep it there between shots. Do not bring anything to Brazil that you would hesitate to give up or would regret losing.

These two links above presents Bahia to foreigners. I suggest you read "Tourist Support" and "Fast Guide". Steal something to somebody are often events in Salvador. There´s to many poor people in Salvador. Be careful with your electronic gadgets. Be sure the place you'll be in Salvador is empty of crooks and double dealing natives. I am not from Salvador but I'm brazilian

The best Pizza in Bahia!

by MulattaCarioca about Sabor Brasil

There is nothing special about this place. it's got plastic chairs & serves cold beer, but that is the beauty of it. It serves, quite possibly, the best pizza in the state and cold Skol. It's just around the corner from Pelourinho, far enough to keep the begging street kids from you, but close enough to the action. Pizza, plain & simple. I think the one we ordered had garlic & oil in lieu of sauce.

DELISH!
