A lovely little place...
Pousada do Boqueirao is a wonderful little pousada with beautiful decor and a very friendly and attentive staff. The rooms were clean and detail oriented. The woman who runs the pousada speaks adequate English and was very helpful in arranging various outtings. A 5 minute (very hilly) walk from Pelourinho and a bit longer from the main Largo.
Unique Quality: A wonderful view over the Bay of All Saints offers a chance to see the working heart of Salvador at the docks.

Pelourinho Historic Center
The Pousada do Boqueirao is in a good location located in the historic centre of Salvador, Bahia, and overlooks the Bay of All Saints, which can be seen from some of the rooms. The rooms vary from small to suites and the tariff varies accordingly. Our room had a private bath and air conditioning.
It is about a 30 min drive by car or taxi from the international airport of Salvador. However, it is possible to take a low cost airport bus from the airport that will drop you at the center and then you can take a taxi from there to the Pousada. A much cheaper way to get there.
Unique Quality: The breakfast was the best and the largest we had during our entire month of travels in Brazil. It included many fresh fruits and local dishes i.e., cuscus tapiocca and banana real. Hmmm!
The Pousada boasts a large kitchen with several cooks who begin baking for the next morning as soon as the mornings breakfast is cleared .

Fernanda, the owner, certainly has a very good taste for rooms, experience with serving and are wonderful cooks! 5 minutes walk from Pelourinho, view to All Saints' Bay.... ah! After the reform, the prices went a bit high, but still I guess it's worth it...
