How to get to Rio from Porto de Galinhas

Hi! I am planning to go to Porto de Galinhas, near Recife in March and would also like to visit Rio for couple of days during my stay. Which is the fastest and the cheapest way to get to Rio from eather Recife or Porto de Galinhas.

Fastest and most efficient use of time: GOL flight from Rio to Recife, bus to Porto de Galinhas (about 1 hour).
Cheapest: Bus the whole way (very long trip).
It is worth lingering a day or so in the Recife area to see the old part of town and Olinda.

Note: It is worth lingering in the Recife area for a couple of days to see the old city and visit Olinda.

I totaly agree with bahiana 77. to take a plane its the best way to go to Rio de Janeiro. Its faster and not so expensive. A flight Recife-Rio should cost around USD 100 to 150.

Air fares with GOL vary depending on whether you are Brazilian or foreign - rates for foreigners are twice the local rates. If you can get someone with a Brazilian credit card and Brazilian CPF card to book for you on the net, the fares by GOL are quite reasonable. Porto Galinhas is only 60 k or so from the airport, and I think there is shuttle direct.

For sure the best way to go to Rio is get a plane in Recife, with GOL company.They use to have big promotions,but better if you get a two way ticket. Ask any travel agent.Some packages include the air ticket, shuttle and accomodations.You could get a bus in porto de galinhas who goes directly to recife airport ( 1 hour trip ) or go to any travel agency and contract a transport service ( is not so expensive if is a group ).Just to you know for max.4 persons a taxi would cust around 50 us $ , a service with small bus to max. 12 persons one way around 70 us $ and to go and back(two way) service -110 us$
The bus company is called CRUZEIRO and the bus departures of porto de galinhas each one hour from 4h10 to 19h55, cust around 2,70 us $.

As far as I read PE 060 workers are making in pairs PE060. So,the most reasonable for a stranger who don't speak portuguese is use PE073.
As far as I know yet Porto de Galinhas is better than Tamandare, so you will enjoy better in Porto de Galinhas than in Tamandaré. Near Porto de Galinhas you will find many beachs (Muro Alto, Maracaipe, admiting surf and sea pool sports).
The only charm from Tamandaré are: Praia dos Carneiros (mangrove and fisher village) and Mamocabinha/Boca da Barra beach.
All these notes are from a brazilian who lives is Minas Gerais state, 2000Km far from Recife. Please don't repose confidence in my hints. I myself would not be confident on it... Besides Brazil is at rain season...

Staying close to "Feirinha", in our way from the hotel, it was a good solution for our dinner in our Feirinha's day. A good "Rodizio" with the same device as Boi Preto: a small wheel on the table that you turn to green when you want to be served, and to red when you want them to make a brake or stop. And it works.
The food was good, the price as expected.

Great salsa club where gorgeous, svelt bodies sway and twist the night away. Even if you do not have the hottest body in town, as long as you enjoy a good dance, come down here. The party-goers would go up to strangers, regardless of age and width of girth, and invite them for dances. Wonderful Saturday night out!!

El Centro de Recife (DownTown), es un mosaico de culturas y categorias sociales, desde el sector bancario hasta los mercados de frutos y abarrotes.
Pero sin duda, el mejor recuerdo es, esta preciosa playa de Boa Viagem (Buen Viaje), con kilometros de deliciosas arenas blancas y aguas tibias.
