Welcome to Campos do Jordão
by Elainehead
If you miss Europe, you might love this town. On the way back, you can pull over your car and take the picture of the "town's entrance" without any problem. It can get really cold in winter and once we were hanging out in the main square almost freezing because it was about - 5 C!!!!
Campos do Jordão - São Paulo´s Winter Refuge
by ThiagoRamos
Campos do Jordão is a small town located 167km from São Paulo, the biggest city in Brazil and the capital of the State of São Paulo. In winter, the city is invaded by thousands of tourists, most of them from São Paulo, because of the Winter Festival.
The highlights of the city are its cold weather on winter (believe it or not in Brazil sometimes we look for cold weather!!!) and the constructions in alpine style. Because of this Campos do Jordão is known as the Brazilian Switzerland!!!
The international cuisine is also a prominance of the city. It is possible to find italian restaurants (very easy to find in São Paulo), german food, fondues and anything that suits you. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO EAT A LOT IN CAMPOS!!!
There are many things that will keep you occupied in Campos do Jordão. There are some interesting museums in town, such as the "Palácio da Boa Vista", and some great strolls in parks, such as the "Horto Florestal", with waterfalls and informations about the loCal vegetation.
Have fun!!!
