EXCLUSIVE Brazil
A friend of mine and her husband are asking me for a very chic and exclusive place to go in Brazil. Money is no matter. What they're looking for is a nice hotel (doesn't have to be huge, but it has to have great service), a good beach, and not a very crowded place.
VERY EXCLUSIVE is the word she used....
Any suggestions???

If your friends really desire a "not very crowded place" then have them take a look at Ponta dos Ganchos in Governador Celso Ramos, Santa Catarina, Brazil. It is about 50kms from Florianopolis. It is a member of Relais & Chateaux which is a pretty good indication of excellent service. They only have 20 private bungalows spread around the property. It is rather difficult to book due to limited number of rooms. Another choice would be Casa Grande Hotel Resort And Spa on the island of Guaruja, Brazil. Hope this helps

Consortium of Brazil's upscale hotels/inns
She should look at the Roteiros de Charme, a consortium of some of Brazil's best hotels and inns. They are all individually owned but got together to form this "exclusive" club of hotels. The website is http://www.roteirosdecharme.com.br. I was lucky to stay in 3 over my last several visits to Brazil and you really can't go wrong with any of them.
