    São Paulo is a business destination for sure, do not come here thinking that you will spend your whole holidays here!

    But it is always nice to stay with style, and sometimes big hotels like the Grand Melia can be a cheap option!;)

    Well located in the newest business centre of Brooklyn, it is so modern there that sometimes you do not believe you are in Brazil!

  • The past two times I've stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and really enjoyed the service and location in the heart of the financial district. It's also close to lots of cafes and shopping centers (if you need a caffine rush while searching for a replacement phone charger you fried...again).

    The pool is very small but has a nice location on the top floor (19th) which is where a decent fitness center is and a dry & wet sauna w/showers. You can also get a dry rub massage (meaning no oil/lotion guys, nothing funny goin' on here...just a damn massage) there which runs about $35 US for 45 minutes.

    The have a business center with two stations where you can also rent a cell phone (this was really convienant).
    The Red Horse lobby bar is very nice with free appetizers weekday evenings.
    The rooms are nice with laptop connections and cable tv with spanktravision.
    Various discounts apply so ask or you could pay US$100 or 200 for the same room (tip, tell'm you want the government rate).

    The lobby is very grand, the service is great, but the free high speed internet access is TOP of the line. The Maksoud's internet access allowed me to set up a postcard site, back in the states, and then send out email postcards to my friends.

    Mr. Maksoud, is a hoot, he is an extremely friendly and entertaining man.

    My favorite accommodation here in SP? Hey, that was my home of course!

    No pool, but I had somehow a view as I live on top of the building. On a lucky day, beautiful girls are entering the elevator.

  • I stayed at the Hotel Intercontinental while I was in Sao Paulo. Since this is the only place I've stayed in Sao Paulo, I can recommend it. ;)

    I don't have a prefered place. If you come to São Paulo the best thing you have to do is rent a house or go to a hotel, the hotels from São Paulo are really very great.
    R$20,00 it's U$8,00

    The hotels price aren't expansive. The food price is really very cheap, mainly the tropical fruits(the tropical fruits are delicious).

  • I got a corporate rate with breakfast for about $120 US.

    Nice business hotel. Mine didn't have a pool but a King Size bed and equipped for an 'executive'.
