Where to buy cheap fabric in Sao Paulo?

by Gustymoreno

Hi!
I'm a designer.
I know Brazil have very nice fabrics.
Where can I buy cheap (Wholesale) fabric in Sao Paulo?
Is there any specific area, any district?
Thanks
Gustavo

hello, give a look in this site www.achadosdodia.com.br, in the page you have "ponta de estoque/outlets", maybe you can find something. What kind of wholesale are you looking for?
bye

You´ll probably find what you´re looking for in Bras or Bom Retiro. These are the main districts in São Paulo to look for clothes or fabric.

Bom Retiro is in the city center, near Luz Train and Metro Station.

Bras is not so far either, but I don´t think you can get there using the subway. Look for a bus or take a taxi.

Travel Tips for São Paulo

Free Internet in the São Paulo subway

by peace_prevails

If you want free access to the internet, just have your ID with you and you can use it for free in the subway system (Metrô). This service is provided in the Sé metrô station from 7am until 10pm. Free even for foreigners with their passports! A great service. Who said the State of São Paulo never did anything for you?!!!

Packing List

by renataa

Like every big city, you are expected to dress nice, specially if you are planning on going to the nice restaurants I suggest here. It doesn't mean you should dress up really fancy. You can wear casual clothes, and jeans, but try not to wear those with your old t-shirt.

and you find yourself in what you as a tourist call DowntownSP, and you say you must at least visit what is aguably the city's sharpest nightspot...this is it. Very clean and modern lines, an eclectic group outside at the elevators as well as upstairs in the bar area itself...make sure you go out to the rooftop terrace and take in the sweeping city views, the millions of lights twinkling all around you. And if it's chilly as it was that evening, that morning, don't worry, there's a great firelit torch-lamp thing which gives off a lovely, toasty glow...not toooo close though... People were there in jeans, but I would err on the side of caution and just wear black. You can't go wrong with that idea.

Churrascaria

by Polly74 about Montana Grill

As I was told, one of the best Churrascaria in SP.
A great choice of food, from grilled meat to sushi, from salad to dessert it's a pity not to be able to taste everything! Fried bananas with churrasco is what I warmly recommend you

'Dueto' in Butanta area, close to the USP. Not a real favorite, but it was my usual Friday evening hang out after work with co-workers. You missed the chance to meet me there in person....
Owned by people who are originally from the Netherlands (yes, some people come to SP and stay here forever!). Thus, the menue has some related items, posters of Amsterdam are on the wall, and they celebrate 'Koenniginnendag' ('Queen's day'). Meanwhile, the waiters know - 'batatas fritas' was my usual order there, and it means 'french fries'.
