Cheap flights - SP to Lima

by swarovskicrystal

Hi all,
I'm looking for budget flights to Lima, so far, my search on expedia has provided me with a USD600 (flying from SP) as the cheapest. Is that the normal price ? (one way)

Would there be any airlines you can recommend? GOL does not fly direct and LAN / TAM comes up with a USD600 price tag.

Thanks All!

Crystal

The upper link shows the air flights avaiable.

It may be that air taxi may help you in scheduling this trip.

Travel Tips for São Paulo

The City great expansion began...

by AndreasK

The City great expansion began in the 20th century with the industrialization, which brought even more immigrants like Arabs and Jews. Today São Paulo is the largest city in South America and one of the largest in the world and like other large metropolitan areas has its share of traffic jams, pollution, poverty and noise.

The city has some 16 million inhabitants, 3 million cars and 300 000 trucks and buses. In heavily industrialized São Paulo, the average particulate level is 82 micrograms per cubic meter. For comparison, the annual average PM-10 in the largest 50 U.S. metropolitan areas ranges between 30 and 60 micrograms per cubic meter. Researchers found that when particulates in Sao Paulo increased by 100 micrograms per cubic meter, the overall death rate increased by about 13%.

by mmanchack

Embu – this is an arts and crafts festival outside of Sao Paulo, which is definitely worth the short drive. There’s absolutely everything you could possibly hope to find there – rocks and gems, handmade crafts such as windchimes and plates, feathers, and precious rock bookends. I purchased my (then) fiance a hand crafted marble chess set for a wonderful price, and I would say it’s priceless.

Embu is definitely lots of fun! And the locals that set up booths there are really charming and welcoming. It takes less than an hour to get to Embu from São Paulo; catch the 'Embu Cultural' bus from outside the Tietê Rodoviária.

Domestic and International airports

by Pierre_Rouss

Be careful, the dosmetic flights are from/to the Cancan (haha, I will fix the name later) airport, located SouthWest of the peripheral.

The international flights are from/to the Garung (haha, I will fix the name later) airport, located NorthEast of the peripheral.

A cab will take you at least an hour to commute from one to the other, careful about rush hour.

Bufalo Grill. I know there's better, I just haven't had it...yet! Until then this modest tradicional churrasco will suffice as my favorite and first experience with 'death by beef'. Kinda like 'death by chocolate' only meat. I couldn't tell you which cut was my favorite partly because the cuts are different from those in the USA and partly because it was all so good it was overwhelming. But leave room for dessert, its worth the effort.

Patio do Colegio

by glabah

This is the location where São Paulo was founded. It includes chapel, museum, and other items relating to the early history of the city. This includes the leg bone of the founder of the city.

The location is historic, but a number of the buildings is quite recent.

I only recommend this location for those who are avid fans of historic locations, since the buildings surrounding the monument are actually quite a bit more recent than 1554.
