Ariau Amazon Towers: Living in Jungle

I loved it! I was there on a post tour after a tourism work shop in Rio and until that point it had been all talk and no action... Boat took us into sunset and once we got to Ariau it was pitch black outside so we couldn't really see the enormous complex hidden in jungle.
Next day after breaky we started off with walk in jungle followed by lunch and nap in a hammock, then optional excursions (swimming with dolfins and visiting natives), at sunset we went piranha wishing, then dinner and after that alligator spotting. Next morning wake up before sunrise to go and marvel sun coming out and some more canoe ride, lunch and offe we go. I took some more optional excursions - how often to do you go to Amazon afterall...

It is one of the kind so can't really bring something out.... It's like living on board of a massiv cruse ship only that there is no noise, but jungle, no people on sight and lots of little monkeys running around. One remark though - i'd be put off by its size but honestly you hardly notice anyone around except for meal times (but it might be so cos I was there on off season)

Ariau Amazon Towers: Huge jungle lodge

This lodge is located a two hour boatride from Manaus, but is is far from human desturbances. This all-inclusive hotel lodje is a great way to experience the Brazilian Amazon for three days. The hotel provides canoe (motorized) with guide tours throughout the Negro area in the area. The American TV show Survivor was recently here. This hotel and area really is amazing.

Ask for a Tarzan room! It costs more but is well worth it (bargen with them, the prices arn't set in stone). I satyed at the Tarzan House "Casa de Tarzan do Sao Paulo" and it was great. There is a private pool, small game room, and ok rooms. As far as rooms go this logde probobly has the best (sometimes this is not good because it gives a fake atmosphere) but the rooms are still basic - beds. See their website - reall cool.
