Canoa Quebrada literally means broken canoe, but it could be broken down civilisation, cute in small doses. Lots of drugs here, you are almost a "square" if you say no!!

Absolutely exotic miles and miles of beach if you drive from Fortaleza the drive is wonderful, most of it actually on the beach and you may see the odd (literally) fisherman and that's about all.

Quite an experience.

Strangely while I was here I saw a Miss Model World competition, fascinating stuff for a place that is quite literally the back of beyond.

Canoa Quebrada: THE PLACE

"First step there"

Afer two day and one crazy nigth in Fortaleza, we decided to take the bus to Canoa Quebrada. The way was long and quite hot but we survived. Afert some long, uncorfortable and really funny hours on the bus, we arrived there during the afternoon.
Everything was really quiet and the weather was to be just on the beach. Soon as we put one foot on Canoa´s land, hundred of locals came to us offering places to stay: small pousadas, big pousadas, cheap pousadas, expensive pousadas, crazy pousadas, relaxing pousadas...............whatever you want and whatever you need :)
People: always with a smile on their faces, trying to give you all that they can (tipical of Brazilian people..........so friendly!!).

"more you walk, more you see....."

At that time with such a sun on owr heads, we only could think about eat something, drink something and be on the shadow. We found a great little restaurant were we eat delicius seafood and drinks many bottles of maracuya´s juice.
Every street that you walk there is special, no noice sound, just calm and friendly atmosphere. And its difficult to explane what you can feel when you start to walk to the beach watching that blue and deep sea..........

"ENJOY IT"

Yes, we were tired; yes we want to sleep and relax...........but with such a view, such a sunset its difficult to close your eyes.

We just stay there, watching, dreaming a little bit that maybe that amazing momento will be for ever. And it was, for my eyes. Im still enjoying that moment.
Those little boats, that strange beach with that colorfull sand will be with me for ever.

Some special moments have no time, they are eternal, like this one.

Hair massage at Canoa QuebradaWell, C. Q. is located south west of Fortaleza, a bit more fashionable but still interesting- that's where I ate "tartaruga a la grega" for first time...!
