THE INCREDIBLE ANCIENT LACEWORK
by janaina
I'm not sure if there's another country whith this kind of handcraft( lace work),using a very unsual kind of instrument, thiskind of handcraft is called " RENDAS (laces) DE BILBO,you can find it also in the state of Santa Catarina, where most of the imigration at the coast are from Acores (Portugal),than,i think maybe they brought this art style from their region in Portugal.
But,in the northeast coast of Brazil, you also find these wonderful women, working everyday in it,mostly old women, because,as one of them told me,the young generation doesn't want to learn this tradition anymore ( a pitty ),the art of the laces survived centuries as the most beautiful and incredible handcraft style in Brazil,in my opinion.
Though the hard work of doing the laces (take many days to finish a table map or even a set of small napkins),the prices are very cheap, specially in the small villages,it's the most tipical art custom.
Take a look and you'll understand, first, the instrument used to make the laces.
God must have spent a little more time on it.

I know, I know, It is beautiful... I lived in Fortaleza for 16 years, and believe it or not, I have NEVER been to Jericoacara. Well... That is going to change... Next time that I go home, I am defenetly taking my husband and inviting some friends to go to Jericoacoara with me. Now, about Jericoacoara:
Jericoacoara, better known as "Jeri" (the name is too big ) is an Area of Envinromental Proctection. Not until recently, 1985, it turned from a small fishermen village to a seeked tourist spot. In 1994 the American newspaper "Washington Post Magazine" had Jericoacoara on it's list for one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the PLANET. Jericoacoara is located 300km from Fortaleza, and the last 15km of the beach has no kind of roads, so you will need a 4x4 to get by.
And what does Jericoacoara means?? It came from the "Tupi-Guarani" Indians and menas "buraco das tartarugas" (whole of the turtles). And what to expect from Jericoacoara?? Well, until recently, there were no hotels or anything there. So if you like the big beaches with easy access to things, Jeri is not your beach. Not everywhere accepts credit cards, or there are no ATM's around. There are hotels and restaurants with good food, but nothing is very glamorous. But if you are looking for a place that will take your breath away, and put you in intense touch with the nature, then, this is your paradise. As I said, God must have spent a little more time on it!!!!!!!!!!!!
To wrap it up, Jeri has the best Winsurf of the state, maybe of the country. Besides winsurf, you can always rent a horse and go around the beach, go in a buggy ride, do sand board, rent a boat, go out at night or... Don't do anything... Just relax, and enjoy nature.
Wednesday night
by IneXisTenZ about Clube do vaqueiro
As its name implies, the club has everything for the cowboy: the huge complex is sometimes used for rodeos during the day, and on Wednesday nights the cavernous interior throbs with forró rhythms and hundreds of dancing couples. Not naked
